2016 Grand Caravan drivers side, passenger sliding door was stuck in the locked position and would not open manually or automatic. This was repaired with the lock actuator being replaced. Within 2 months the door would not open automatically pushing the inside button or key fob. We could open manually, but when closing the door won't latch and it pops back open. The door has opened while driving.
Loud buzzing noise when unlocking and locking the doors I have a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan and every time I unlock the door or lock it it makes loud buzzing noise, the door works well. But when open dtiver door, the right real sliding door makea a loud buzzing noise.
Both rear sliding door actuators have failed. Doors will not lock. We learned of the issue when my child was able to open the door while we were driving. We tried the other door and realized after a few weeks of buzzing that door lock burned out as well.
When locking the car there is a buzzing sound from the drivers side door. The passenger side sliding door will not lock. After it is locked it is able to be opened. I have a 2012 Dodge Caravan and it has never done this. This is issue is current
When unlocking the doors using the key fob, the passenger sliding door makes a very loud buzzing noise. It started in 2019 and occurs every time the passenger door unlocks.
Once I returned home after the store, I pulled in my driveway and noticed not all locks sounded when parking. I used my buttons on my overhead to open my 2 side doors. The right side sliding door opened fine, but the left sliding door wouldnt open. As I was trying to open I noticed it wasnt unlocking. I tried everything and it's still stuck. This seems to be a very common problem for 2011 to 2018 van's, according to the 100+ reviews I read online. With this problem I was unable to get my baby out of the van and had to crawl through the van to get him out. This is a huge safety concern, what if the circumstances were different and it was an emergency"?" this could have been deadly for my baby or one of my other 3 children. This is a known concern and this should be addressed and fixed by Dodge until something tragic does happen. Please fix before this happens. Also about 1 month ago the right backseat door started making a strange buzzing noise everytime it unlocks. Not sure if this is connected but this is also a very common issue too. Thank you!
Unlock the kids rear doors are making do you play sound in the lock and not sure why they are locking and unlocking every time we turn on the car? upon researching it online there's tons of complaints that the doors are buzzing when we get into the car. This problem seems to be with all 2016 models. Topic seeing complaints online tells me I'm not the only one and it should be considered a recall because this problem developed by itself with many people who are on this model..
Passenger side sliding door won't lock with remote, or by button on driver's door. It will only lock manually. When the car is locked by remote then, the alarm sounds any time someone tries to open the unlocked sliding door.
My 2016 Dodge Caravan for no apparent reason locked the drivers side rear sliding ddoor and will not release. This could be serios safety problem in case of an accident
Sliding door locks jammed and not working...stuck. Can't open the door manually either. This is dangerous because can't get kids out from the back especially during emergency situation. Dodge should recall all sliding door actuator or whatever is causing this stuck lock on sliding doors to open.
Side sliding door lock is stuck and the door can not be opened electronically or manually. Passengers can become trapped and unable to exit the vehicle. Luckily this happened in a non-emergency situation and the children were able to slowly climb out a different door.
The passenger sliding door makes an awful whining/grinding noise when unlocking and locking the door. It appears to also try and open at times when driving down the road. It seems very unsafe and also very obnoxious to listen to. I am afraid it may not open when needed or will open when it shouldn't.
The driver side rear sliding door will not open. It appears to be stuck in the locked position and any attempts to unlock it, either with the fob, all driver (door & overhead) lock/open buttons, or manually trying to move the lock, fail to release it. This occurred when the vehicle was stationary, in park, in our driveway, when I pushed the overhead "door open" button in order to get my children (2 weeks old and 3 years old) out of their car seats. Thankfully we were not involved in an incident requiring immediate evacuation at the time that this occurred. Still, I had to go in via the passenger side sliding door, uninstall my newborn infant's car seat, and leave her on the ground in order to access my toddler's seat and get him out. I'm horrified to think what a dangerous situation this could become in the case of an emergency, or if both doors were to fail. This has rendered the van unusable for my family, as getting everyone in and out quickly and safely is now impossible.
The automatic rear sliding doors quit working and are stuck closed. They can't be opened with the remote, manually from the inside or with the inside buttons on the B pillar post or by the driver from the overhead driver's console. Apparently this is a common and very dangerous safety issue for these vehicles. This should be covered by warranty from Dodge but apparently is not. This should be a factor recall dealership fix.
The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that the rear passenger's side door lock ceased in the lock position. The contact also stated that the driver's side rear door ceased in the unlock position. Fisher Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (349 E 32nd St, yuma, AZ 85365, (928) 344-2650) was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the lock actuator needed to be replaced. The passenger's side door was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The manufacturer was informed of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 49,250.
Drivers side sliding door seized in the 'locked' position. Vehicle was parked in driveway and had been used normally earlier in the day and without issue. The door could not be opened manually from the inside or the outside or with any remote or interior button. Have been unable to resolve issue.
