I think the door locks havn't worked for awhile, because when we opened a door sometimes the alarm would go off. Guess it went off when the door was suppose to be loacked and wasn't (because the remote door locks didn't work). When I found out the auto locks didn't work, I tryed the switches on the doors, they don't work. Gotta tell every one this van is turning out to be dissapointing, Have had it for around a year and have put about 1/2 quart oil in the powder steering, so no leaks or drips on the ground. Just found out the inner tie rods need to be replaced. One of the front brake pads are shot. The window waher pump will not pump when its 20 degrees or less, have never put water in it only the antifreze. The engine just started missfiring when you first start it up, like it firing on 5 cylinders instead of 6. The is some kind of noise coming from the front end when you go over a little bump. Any way not at all happy, our 1997 van 3.0 l had non of these problems at 150000 miles. Thanks for listening

I only wish I had come to this site BEFORE I wasted $58.00 at Marty Cancilla's Dodge World for a "diagnostic" to see what the problem was. After reading this same beef about the inop power locks, I removed the BCM #1 fuse AND removed the battery cables. I then used a brush to clean contacts and replaced and VOILA, they work again. You saved me an additonal $191.00 (plus) because they wanted to do some "reprogramming."

Without warning, electric door lock system failed to respond to remote key lock. Doors had to be manually locked and unlocked. Cover to fuse panel does not specify which fuse supplies door lock system. Owners manual on this subject is useless. I removed and cleaned the contact blades of all fuses and re-inserted one at a time. The system was restored. So far, so good!

EDITOR'S NOTE: To fix, the only fuse you need to remove & re-insert is the BCM #1 fuse, a 40 amp square-shaped fuse identified on underside of lid. This resets the Body Control Module (BCM). The same thing can be accomplished by disconnecting & reconnecting the battery.
