Same as everyone else. Bought it back in 11/2007 and have had the issue ever since. We just never fill it up all of the way. Noticed there was a recall for the 05s but not 06.

This model year needs a recall to address this problem. 2005 models had the same problem and were all recalled.

Durango 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 34,600 miles

I recently purchased a used Durango from a dealership. This particular Durango was just purchased at an auction 2 weeks before. I went to the gas station after purchasing it and when I filled up the tank, the pump stopped when the tank was full, but when I pulled out the nozzle it spewed gas all over the side of the car and onto the ground. I thought it might be the particular pump, until it happened AGAIN today!! I am furious. Does anyone know of a recall or solution (other than a costly trip to the mechanics) for this problem??

Durango SLT 4.7L

I just purchased this 2006 Dodge Durango last week. Two hours after having the truck, I went to the gas station to get gas. When the pump shut off and I went to reach for the nozzle to pull out, gas exploded every where. I was so pissed! I owned a 2004 Durango until totaling it and was so pleased with the Durango and wanted to purchase another and now I am thinking that I should have thought about it. I am waiting to see if the dealership that I purchased it from will fix it, but I won't hold my breath. Other than this issue I do like my Durango.

Durango Limited 5.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 32,000 miles

The service engine light keeps coming on. I've checked it with my On-Board Diagnostics System, have changed the gas cap, purged the solenoid, and the sensor on the charcoal filter. I'm still getting the same codes. What else could it be? I'm not taking it back to Dodge as they are costing me a fortune and still haven't got a clue. I need some help.
