I have a 2000 Dodge Durango with 65,000 well kept miles. On Oct 7, I was involved in a pileup on interstate 24 in murfreesboro, tn. There were 6 cars, and I was number 3. the airbag did not deploy. I was taken by ambulance to vanderbilt hospital, where I was diagnoses with a broken sternum.
The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Durango. On November 1, 2008, while driving 45 mph, the spare tire released from the tire holder. The vehicle flipped over and crashed into a pole. The windshield shattered and the driver side frontal air bag failed to deploy. The driver sustained injuries to the head. Georgia police report number 081101015 was filed. The vehicle will be taken to the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 95,000.
The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Durango. While driving 45 mph over ice and snow, the rear of the vehicle slipped as the contact decelerated. The vehicle landed into a ditch and then flipped over. The air bags never deployed. A police report was filed. He believes that if the vehicle flipped over, the air bags should have deployed. The failure and current mileages were 78,000. The consumer stated the transmission made a sudden shift prior to the accident and when evaluated by the mechanic the only error code admitted was that of the transmission. : the contact stated while driving 10 mph toward an intersection on normal road conditions, upon applying the brakes to obey a stop sign, the air bags deployed without warning. There were no warning lights illuminated prior to the incident. The front passenger and the driver suffered minor bruises. There was no police present to report the incident. The dealership was contacted, who provided the NHTSA phone number to report the incident. The manufacturer had not been contacted yet.
Consumer's vehicle struck another vehicle. At 35 mph, and the air bags did not deploy. Vehicle was totaled. Consumer will make contact the manufacturer.
While driving 15 mph consumer's vehicle was involved in a head on collision. Upon impact, dual air bags did not deploy. Driver sustained head injury from hitting the windshield. Vehicle was totaled.
The vehicle was in the park position, when the consumer turned the key, the vehicle just accelerated. The vehicle spun around, made a left hand cut going into a ditch and hitting a tree. There were injuries. The consumer had a broken right leg. The air bags did deploy.
While driving across an intersection consumer's vehicle was hit head on. The vehicle that hit consumer's vehicle was totaled. Upon impact, air bag did not deploy.
While driving 45 mph consumer's vehicle rear ended another vehicle. Upon impact, frontal air bags did not deploy. Manufacturer and dealership were contacted.
Consumer fell a sleep behind the wheel while driving 35-45 mph, resulting in a head on crash with a tractor trailer. Upon impact, air bags did not deploy.
While driving at 45 mph and without warning vehicle in front of consumer's vehicle came to a complete stop. Causing a rear end collision. Upon impact, both frontal air bags did not deploy. Consumer had vehicle towed to the dealer.
When we tried to avoid an accident by braking, our anti-lock brakes locked and we were unable to steer. Also, upon impact at approximately 40-45 mph, our air bags did not deploy even though the front end of our Dodge Durango (2000) was completely destroyed.
My wife was driving our 2000 Dodge Durango. My daughter who was seated in the rear passenger seat screamed causing my wife to turn and look then hitting a concrete pad housing a approximately 30 feet pole from the target parking lot. There is approximately $9000 damage and my wife had to be taken by paramedics to a local hospital. Her head hit and broke the visor and visor arm and then the steering wheel due to the air bag not deploying. A Chrysler inspector has inspecting the vehicle and determined there was nothing wrong with the airbags which I have a hard time understanding.
While driving at 20 mph the consumers vehicle crashed head on into another vehicle. Neither the driver nor passenger side air bags deployed. The consumer has contacted the dealer. Cause of the problem has yet to be determined.
