All of the vehicle's ball joints had to be replaced. The consumer stated that there was a problem in the front end of the vehicle. The recall did not include the consumers vehicle. The consumer would like to be reimbursed for the amount she paid for service. The ABS and brake light came on. The right inner tie rod assembly was replaced.

After parking car in driveway, ABS motor turns on and stay on even after turning the key off, had to act quick to pull the 40 amp fuse under hood before the ABS hcu motor over heat. Can someone explain why Dodge needs a 40amp fuse to power a less than 20amp ABS control unit, and why does the motor stays on when the ignition should have shut everything down. That could have being a fire hazard if I have let the motor stay running. Both ABS fuse or pulled at this time so I can commuted to and from work without worry about the hcu motor running.

1) ABS and brake lights came on, whining noise from front end 2) dealer determined ball joints in front and wheel bearings in serious shaped, laughed at how I was just driving on the highway since the likelihood of the wheels falling off was so high. 3. dealer installed 2 hub brakes, bearings in front ($1025.30 cost) and overhauled rear differential, bearings worn and excessive movement in pinion ($924.48). * now I hear NHTSA has discovered this on 00-03 Durangos (mine is a 98) and wants Chrysler to recall them. I paid all this money to correct a problem even the federal government says is Chrysler's fault. They should give me at least a credit for future repairs.

ABS/brake lights came on. We took the car to a reputable dealer for repairs. First, we were told that the rear speed sensor was defective. The lights came back on 3 months later. Then, we were told that the main relay was open and it need resetting. The lights came on again. We took it back and was told the same thing again( main relay was open). The lights came back on again. This last time we took it in we were told that it needs a antilock controller module, which cost at the minimun of $600.

The consumer heard that there was a recall on Dodge Durangos. The consumer stated that when he was driving his vehicle and made a hard turn it sounded as if his tires were rubbing. While driving slowly, the front end of the vehicle felt funny. The consumer stated he was afraid to drive the vehicle any distance. The ABS brake light also came on and stayed on.

I had to have the ball joints replaced 6 months after I bought the truck. The dealership said that my wheels were getting ready to fall off and the truck was to dangerous to drive. Then the transmission went out in August of 2003. I barely had 50,000 miles on it. The brakes on it are terrible. When it is raining I hydroplane just about ever time I put on the brakes. The anti lock brake system is not working properly. The light is now on. The speedometer is now broken. It stays at zero most of the time but will occasionally jump up and down while driving. The electric door lock makes a horrible sound when it locks. Last but not least whenever I drive on the interstate and go over 60 mph the engine makes a rattling noise.

The ABS never worked since purchasing the car. It was reported to the dealer but they kept saying that it was working probably due to the fact that there were no error codes being captured. Recently the ABS and brake lights came on. Even with the lights on no error codes were being reported. After several visits to the dealer they finally replaced the control module. The ABS works with the new control module and it is now obvious that the ABS never worked.

This vehicle has had major component breakdowns since purchase. Initially, immediately after purchase there was a clicking sound in the steering column. The dealer indicated that there was a tsb and replaced steering column. The second problem occurred in February 2000, some three months after purchase. We began to notice a significant pulsing in the brake pedal. The dealer attributed this to ABS brakes. Several months later when the pulsing was significantly greater and the braking was being affected, an independent shop reviewed the brakes and indicated that the rotors were severely warped and causing the pulsing sensation. This was repaired out of pocket. In February, 2001 the temperature began fluctuating, spiking higher temperatures causing the check gauge light to illuminate. It would then reset. Hanover Dodge, a different dealer indicated that the thermostat housing seal was leaking and replaced the thermostat and gasket. This was paid out of pocket. Approximately ten days later, the radiator had a major failure requiring replacement. This was paid out of pocket in the amount of $610.33. In may, 2001we were alerted to a problem involving the front end. In bringing the vehicle to the dealer, a leak was noticed from the transmission cooler and also and more critically it was determined that the left upper ball joint required replacement as well as the inner tie rods. These repairs were also paid out of pocket in the amount of $923.45. The latest issue arose several weeks ago when a howling sound was noticed coming from the rear of the vehicle. Through research and independent evaluation it has been determined that the rear differential has a design defect whereby the ring and pinion cannot handle the load of the vehicle. I have noted several of the same complaints being made to your organization in this database. We believe that the vehicle we have is defective. Each problem has involved a major component or system.
