I own a 2014 Dodge Charger SE and had a faulty alternator. It appears that this is not an isolated issue with my vehicle. Per NHTSA's recall T36 and T75 some alternators were recalled for this vehicle. I believe the recall should have included my vehicles alternator. Before May 27th, 2018, our alternator failed. The car would not start, at the time we were not sure if it was the alternator. I had a local auto store test the alternator and it passed. So, we purchased a new battery. We believed that resolved this issue. After a month, the issue happened again. It appears the alternator was not charging the battery correctly. The issue was hit or miss luckily, we did not have an issue while driving the car. This car is not an everyday vehicle so it could go a couple of weeks without being driven. To alleviate the issue, I replaced the alternator on September 15th 2018. Since that time everything has been working correctly. Attached are a photo of the oem alternator, the aftermarket alternator, and receipt. I believe Dodge Chrysler should extend their current recalls to include the denso 42100 ' 0750 alternator. On May 27th, 2018 our alternator failed. At the time we were.

Today my car turned off all of a sudden out of no where. I have stated to the dealer for years that it is not normal for a car to say battery saver mode and lights, radio, dash and all electrical devices in a vehicle to turn of or stutter of and on. They said it is normal and that it is my battery. If a car turns on the alternator is supposed to take all the load off of the battery running in the engine nothing else. My car has stuttered multiple time off and in while driving and even almost turned off. This is not safe for driving around, because car could turn off while driving on a highway and I lose all control off the vehicle steering, brakes and accelerating. When I the vehicle turned off today I was stopped at a red light and the car started to stutter and then it just turned off when the green light turned on. I was unable to take a picture today and I was in traffic and it is illegal to drive and use a phone. I have multiple picture from the past but was only able to upload one

My vehicle has a recall (campaign 17V-741) for the alternator. I took my vehicle to my local Dodge dealer for repairs and was advised that since my VIN is not in the Dodge recall database, the repair cannot be done under recall and I would have to pay for the repair/replacement of the alternator. My "battery saver mode" light illuminates regularly under load such as air conditioner. To date, Dodge refuses to honor the recall.
