This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Failure of this part causes the horn and the cruise control to be inoperable and for the airbag light to stay on all the time. With the number of failures of this part, a recall is necessary. Many people will not fix at the cost of the part and will be driving an unsafe vehicle.
First the windshield wipers come on automaticall, ythen the cruise control stops, then the horn stops working, then the airbag light comes on, now the car occasionlly doesn't start unless I adjust the steering column

Air bag/ horn, and cruise control went out while consumer was driving. Contacted dealer, and the dealer noted that clock spring was the cause of the problem.
Ea 01 007/air bag clockspring:air bag light remains on while driving, also, both horn and cruise control are inoperative. Dealer notified. Feel free to provide any further information.
The clockspring assembly failed rendering airbag useless. The failed part was dismantled and it seems to me that this failure is a latent defect that is indeed safety related. I'd be happy to supply you the part since Chrysler seems uninterested in resolving this matter.
Consumer states air bag light came on and stayed on all day, and the horn stopped working. Took vehicle to dealership who informed her this was a result of a defect in the clock spring.
Failure started as an intermitent illumination of the air bag light. Later noticed that the cruise control did not work. April 10, 2002 horn would not sound when attempting to signal another car backing out of a parking spot. Avoided the car and an damage. Now the air bag light is on constantly. Neither the horn or cruise control work and I assume the air bag is inoperative. The van is going in for the fuel rail recall on April 29 and I will ask about the clockspring at that time.
Air bag light comes on and off. When contacting dealer, dealer noted that clock spring on vehicle is the reason for light coming on. They are not willing to do anything.
