My fiance's grandson bumped the back of the driver's seat and the head rest blew open. Luckily I, was seated in the driver's seat but was leaning forward at the time. We were sitting still and getting the grandchildren in position and seatbelted in.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 3V282000 (electrical system, air bags) and 16V668000 (seat belts, air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issues. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Parts distribution disconnect.
I was driving down the road and a car was in my lane to make a turn. I had to slam on the brakes to keep from having a head on collision. We didn't hit but it made the head rest pop out. Is there any defects on this subject...
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. While driving 25 mph over a residential speed bump, the passenger side head rest detached from the seat. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.
