Often when the key is turned in the ignition nothing happens. The same happened in my dad's Grand Caravan and the problem seemed to have been a known issue with the ignition. After a few tries, the vehicle does start up, but initially nothing happens when the key is turned.

The driver side sliding door is stuck in the lock position. I cannot unlock it manually, with the key fob or with the unlock button. I cannot use the power sliding door function nor open the door manually. I believe this to be a safety issue as in an accident could cause trapped passengers. My vehicle has just under 50 thousand miles on the odometer. This looks to be a common issue with this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler Town and country. While the contact was using the keyless entry, the vehicle's doors and liftgate failed to open and close. Additionally, the manual button had to be pushed four times before the doors opened. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to normandin Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat (900 capitol expressway auto mall, san jose, ca 95136, (408) 266-9500) where it was diagnosed that the door handles needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 586519, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 20,000.

The Chrysler blind spot detection is faulty on March 30 it began beeping randomly with message 'blind spot detection unavailable' this continued for the next two weeks. It was randomly and persistent when driving. The beeping was a constant distraction to my driving. It was a safety concern. In the third week the message when the beeping was 'service blind spot detection' we took the car in for service at that point. It was a cost of $1400. This is an electric short in the vehicle very near the gas tank. It is a safety concern. As I researched the issue I was surprised that their is documentation back to 2012 that is readily available of this issue.

Sliding door locking mechanism is jammed and will not unlock. Door is stuck shut. Seems to be an electrical issue but will not reset by removing the fuse and reinstalling. This is a safety issue in case of an accident - if it were the only door we could get out. The van is under an extended warranty and we plan to have it fixed, but it is not the first time it has happened - the other times, it just corrected itself and reset. The other sliding door also randomly won't shut because the locking mechanism is stuck and we have work it into place. The dealership has already looked at that door once and says there doesn't appear to be anything wrong. Of course, this happens when the vehicle is stationary and doesn't matter whether it is on or off. There is really nothing I can upload other than a picture of the shut door and that it is locked. I could send a video, but the file would be too large.

Drove car to work. Took key out of the ignition, but van continued to run. Disconnected the battery but van's engine continued to run. Drove it to an independent mechanic and it was diagnosed as a win module issue. Currently at another Chrysler dealer waiting for repair. This issue could have easily been a safety issue. If the win module had broken in the 'off' position on a busy road instead of in the "on" position.

Upon plugging a usb cable into the port on the center console there was a spark and a loud pop. Afterwards if the temperature got too hot inside the cabin the uconnect system would reboot on it's own, regardless of if the van was in motion or stationary. In addition the passenger sliding door would not lock at all afterwards. Upon taking the van to the dealership they identified both issues as needing a new radio and a new locking mechanism, both of which were covered under warranty.

Driver's side, power sliding door, will not open. This is a safety hazard. In an emergency or accident, only the other sliding door will open or if blocked, all will be trapped and unable to exit the vehicle. Vehicle is only 2.5 years old and 49K miles. Dealership and other repair business say no warranty coverage. Price to fix is either $1,371 or $1,495. I'm seeing lots of other owners complaining about this safety issue and being charged this gross amount of money. Lives are at risk. Please make this a recall issue as passengers risk becoming trapped and unable to exit.

Sliding rear passenger doors closed and permantely locked. Door manual lock will not move and all electrial door open switches will not open door. Message appears on dashpanel to "unlock door to operate". one failure occured about 10 months ago and the left side door failed Sunday August 26. Had moved vehicle from one parking area to another short distance and tried to open door without success and with same message on dashpanel. Have no way to remove passengers from rear of vehicle except through rear lift hatch in case of emergency. Doors have no way to operate manually. Have contacted 2 different dealerships and both keep saying door lock actuators have failed. But no way to operate manually when locked? to us 70+ year olds this is very alarming

My wife was parked at a gas station 5 miles from our home and all outlets and lights began billowing smoke into the cabin. The fire department was called and they disconnected the battery. It has 30000 miles driven. She had to evacuate the children, and it was towed to a Chrysler dealer (miller in lebanon, nh) we are waiting for a diagnosis.

The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle registered the incorrect gear. Prior to that, the vehicle could not be de-powered until after numerous attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission and the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the vehicle could not be started three weeks later. The vehicle was towed to the dealer again where it was diagnosed that a 13mm net was loose, the bolt needed to be tightened, and the wire harness needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: 31511387. The contact tried to return the vehicle for trade-in or reimbursement, but was informed by the manufacturer that Chrysler would continue to repair the vehicle under warranty until the warranty expired. The failure mileage was 64,002.

We had just turned into our subdivision and all the lights in the dash illuminated, the windshield wipers turned on and then while driving down the road the engine shut off. We were traveling at a low speed so when the van came to a stop we were able to restart it. The dealership didn't sound to concerned and are going to look at the van on Thursday. I'm extremely disappointed with their response as this could have easily happened with my kids in the car when it was traveling at a higher rate of speed.

All of the warning lights on the dash came on, tachometer and speedometer ceased to work even though the motor kept on running. Car was towed to local Chrysler dealer. A week later they told me the radio shorted out and this caused the dash lights to malfunction. The radio was replaced under warranty and the problem has not reoccurred yet.

Vehicle has had repeated issues with acceleration and shifting gears since purchase. Vehicle will not accelerate over 40 mph while driving and rpms redline. It has been in for repair for over 40 days since March 2016 and is currently at dealership. Most recently the vehicle lost all power, including ability to steer and brake properly, after being in reverse backing out of my driveway. During the last two incidents, no warning lights have illuminated, nor have there been any fault codes found in the vehicle's system. The van is extremely unsafe and unreliable, and is a danger to myself and three young children - as well as other vehicles on the road. I have requested arbitration under New York state's lemon law and I have attached a copy of paperwork recently submitted. The pdf describes, in greater detail, the ongoing issues with the vehicle, as well as Chrysler's repeated attempts to service it without success. Since vehicles are mass produced, I worry that other consumers are experiencing these same dangerous issues, with no remedy in sight. Thank you for looking into this matter.
