We purchased this 2011 Chrysler Town and country as a new vehicle in Jan.of 2012. Since the purchase there have been 5 incidents where the van has lost all electrical power making clicking noises, and leaving us stranded. The final incident happened on Dec. 26,2014 while traveling in the mountains of North Carolina. It was 10:30 pm, no street lights and nothing but steep terrain on the sides. The vehicle completely shut down and was making the clicking noises.the power steering was lost, headlights off and all other electrical functions were unavailable. Once in complete darkness we noticed we had shifted into the oncoming lane of traffic. We noticed headlights coming at us in the distance, luckily quick thinking and use of a flashlight we were able to warn the oncoming vehicle of our position in their lane. They stopped in front of our vehicle and turned on their hazards to provide warning for other vehicles. Being that we were in imminent danger, I had to disconnect the battery and let the system reset. After taking it to the dealership they once again said they could not find a problem. The dealership only stated, " have it towed in when it happens". being that the last 2 times this happened we were left stranded in traffic, during late hours with absolutely no electrical power and my children in the car, it was impossible to wait to be towed in. They were unsafe situations that potentially had fatal results. I had to make the best decision at the time to protect my family. I am beyond frustrated with Chrysler for allowing me to leave the shop every time with no solution to the problem. My kids are afraid to get in van for fear of breaking down yet again. Five incidents with no resolution, no one knows how to fix the problem! a recurrent problem that can happen at any point- while on a highway or getting through a busy intersection.

Vehicle would not start with fob. Has been intermittent problem since. Local dealer (crown Chrysler Jeep, dublin oh) proposed "possible" fix by replacing some electrical component ( $700+ non-warranty, out of pocket) during summer of 2014. Problem continues to this date and looking at registered complaints I would guess the previous owner or dealership (galeana Chrysler Jeep, Inc, ft myers, fl decided to pass the problem to the next owner and let them/me deal with the problem. Also, rear window vent switch was disconnected @ crown during summer of 2014. Neither crown or galeana has been able to provide replacement as of this date. Does anyone other than me see a pattern here!?

We had trouble starting car, wife was out in town and car would not start. Jumped off and started. Had battery replaced after talking to cry service. Car kept not starting with multiple fobs. Problem reoccur ed and dealer checked out car, nothing found - intermittent problem. Problem recurring, had battery changed again on warranty. Problem keeps recurring, changed batteries in key fobs, still having problem, dealer worked with us over phone tonight and got car started in neutral then ran fine. Bringing car into dealership again tomorrow to be diagnosed again but this is still happening. From reading the various forums and compliant.com it sounds like a tip problem.

We have only owned the car since July 2014. The car simply won't start at times. After some time passes, it will start. While it won't start, all the lights are on and battery is fine. We have taken it to the dealer 5 times, but it has happened approximately 20 times (most recently both 12/27 and 12/28). The dealer has tried multiple solutions (upgraded software, replaced win and tipm, replaced ground wire). This situation is not safe. My wife is carrying 5 kids around (3 in car seats). She has been stranded multiple times (while pregnant and now with an infant). I have no confidence in the car, and who knows if the power will shut off while the car is underway.

The L touring town country, I have a automatic front light system that will lower the high beam to low beam if a car is coming in the opposite direction. We had a rain storm that I drove the car through I notice the instrument panel and radio lost power for few second. Couple days later driving at night I turn on the automatic front light beam system and few minutes later the front light, control panel, cab light and radio lost power for couple minutes. This defect could cause a accident if the driver is inexperience driver.

The blind spot indicator system has failed on the van. The dealer said it would cost $1000 for the part to repair it. Because of water, snow, salt, the system fails and now, a safety feature purchased with this vehicle, is now a hazard. We had the van into the dealership service shop and they said it would take a couple of months to get in a replacement. Why isn't this being recalled after reading other related issues on the internet? I am not going to pay all that money for a safety feature that shouldn't fail so quickly and the government needs to do something about this since we have no other course of action.
