The power steering abruptly stops in the middle of driving making turning the vehicle extremely difficult for me and impossible for my spouse. Then, while I am using all my might to turn it around a corner, it resumes and causes me to jerk the wheel. These issues happened on the highway, in parking lots, and side roads, the power steering just stops and starts without cause. I almost hit a guard rail on several occasions. I took it to the dealership and they cleaned the wires but it's still happening. Now, they want me to pay $3,500 to fix a problem that I didn't cause.

We purchased the car in 2018. The vehicle's power steering always starts to lock/stick into one direction after the vehicle has been driven for 45 minutes or so. It is most noticable on the hwy at speeds of 70 mph or above, but on longer trip as the car has been running longer, the power sterring locking/sticking takes place lower speeds as well. When thw power steering starts to lock/stick, it requires a jerk force on the sterring wheel to straighten it out and this can easily cause oversteering in the opposite direction. Once the problem starts it is constant and you have to always fight against the power steering. It is dangerous and we are getting rid of the car. We have taken it several times to the Chrysler dealeship service department (mopar) and they have always told me the power steering needs an update and have never resolved the issue. They cannot replicate the problem either.

I bought 2017 Chrysler Pacifica touring L 3 weeks ago used from a Dodge dealership. This past week my wife and I took a long road trip over 1000 miles.the car drove just fine and when we arrived I didn't drive the car for two days. When I went to start it back up, it sent a message saying its lost communication to power steering and the check engine light is on and the steering wheel is near impossible to turn. I'm at a loss because the car drove perfectly for three weeks then sat for two days and just stopped. I can't drive it. Had it towed to dealership and they want to replace steering rack.

I believe my vehicle is have the issue of a known recall on this type of vehicle: Engine stall or loss of power steering assist a loss of power steering assist or a stall can increase the risk of crash. I was driving and suddenly the power steering went out and the vehicle came to a stop. I was instructed on the screen to put the vehicle in park. Once I put it in park the vehicle shut off. I tried restarting it. The brake was stiff and would not push in. When I pushed the button it went to "acc" then when I pushed it again it went to "run" but the vehicle was not on and I could not change the shifter out of the park position. This was very dangerous and happened while vehicles were driving behind me causing people to suddenly come to a stop.

While driving, vehicle completely lost power/stalled. Power steering lost, all acceleration and power assisted braking. Indicator lights for variety of systems light up. Pull over to side and restart vehicle. Vehicle exhibits "haywire" behavior, with indicators for all systems, including traction control tire pressure, battery, hybrid electric system, parking brake, etc.going off. A short video was taken of this behavior when restart was attempted after the stall. Vehicile fails to restart. After additional try, vehicle starts, and traction control and some other systems remain non functional. Vehicle is returned home, then returned to dealer, who advises that vehicle firmware is up to date, and that the issue "cannot be duplicated." Vehicle was up to date on previous recalls relating to stalls. The stall was incredibly dangerous, and dealer does not seem to have any idea what source of the problem is. We have been sent away, being told to return the vehicle if problem shows up again. We do not feel that vehicle is safe to drive, and dealer has done nothing to address or diagnose the issue that caused the problem. The issue came after some other issues with vehicle sometimes indicating that airbags need service, or not recognizing that seatbelts were buckled. I believe the issue to be related to problems with computer firmware governing the vehicle.

There has been more than one occasion where my car would shift from drive to neutral or even stalls completely. There have been times where decelerates on its on and when it locks up from the parking gear while trying to shift to drive. Most recent occurrance of this was Sunday, December 22, 2019. Acceleration from a stopped position always feels like I was rear-ended everytime. I have had multiple safety recalls and the 2 times I took it back to the dealer for fixing, I reported this concern. Dealership reported finding no issue as reported. I have received of yet another recall in 2018 but have not had a chance to take it in. I fear for the safety of my children and I as this is the only vehicle I have. But these defects that dealership reports as "finding no issue" is not fair. Its a death trap. These stops, stalls, deceleration and accelerations that started in 2017 and continues thru today is presenting a severe danger hazard and I need help.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica, 33'400 miles- hesitation after placed into/ shifting gears from a stopped position, 5-10 seconds until the car jerks into gear from release of break pedal to engaging in selected gear. Heated steering wheel feature only works intermittently, whether selected from settings with start or manually selected, all controls from steering wheel go out periodically after the vehicle has been in motion, will not work at all, including radio controls, cruise control button, U-connect button, vr button- not even the illumination of the controls works when this happens. Usually after the car has been in motion for at least 10 minutes. Has happened several times, but comes back on at random intervals while driving. Has only happened on short trips. Unknown cause. Purchased vehicle used with 20K on it May 30,2019.

The steering is loose. While turning there is a knock, turning into a parking space or backing out of a drive way, while in park and turning the steering wheel. I took my van in 1 and a half weeks after my warranty expired and they said I needed a new rack and pinion which was going to be over $4000,00! the dealership advised me to call Chrysler to see if they would cover it, they did not. After further research, it is shown that if a rack and pinion is bad, the front end could fall apart at any time. I only have 36K miles on my van that is 2 years old. That is ridiculous to me, and this is a safety concern. Especially in a family vehicle such as a van.

For the past month or so when the vehicle is going in curves the steering wheel is sticking. It's almost like there is no power steering. My husband was driving my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica on 9/9/2019 around an S turn when suddenly the van lost its power steering. He could not control the vehicle that was traveling approximately 30 mph. He couldn't break and the van hit a curb which caused the vehicle to blow out both driver side tires and rip the drivers front strut apart. In June of 2019 after receiving the notice of recall V53, I took my van to the dealership to fix that recall and any other recalls it may have. I waited approximately and 1 hour and 30 minutes while my vehicle was being fixed. I was told that all were completed and was handed the keys. Right after the accident I received an email about the recall. I called the dealership and they told me they didn't fix recall number V53. I contacted Chrysler about the accident and they sent an investigator out to inspect the van. In return I received a letter from fca saying that they couldn't find any issues. I formally believe a malfunction happened at the time of the accident. Over the course of several months since owning the vehicle it had showed signs of an existing problem which we made complaints at the dealership and nothing was ever found. When you come to a stop or slow down to come to a stop/yield and accelerate the van would buck and or jerk as if it were to loose power and shut off. Something is wrong with the van whether it's related to recall V53 or an un-identified problem.
