CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.
The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

This is the letter I sent to Chrysler!
Dear Chrysler,
In January of this year, I allowed myself to go out of my comfort zone, and purchase my first BRAND NEW car ever. I chose a 2015 Chrysler 200. I even named her Juliet.
I have 16,000 miles on my car. I received a recall notice in the mail, and scheduled it to go in to the dealership this morning. Then Tuesday on my way to work, my car started shifting with loud clunks and jerks. As I was driving 62mph down the interstate, my car suddenly lost all power, and began flashing the check engine light and battery light, and told me to place the car in park. I was able to ease over a lane and then over to the shoulder thankfully. I called a tow truck, and called the dealership to let them know that it was being towed in immediately. Then I did some investigating. You see the week before while in the post office parking lot, this same thing had occurred-and I had thought that somehow I hadn’t let the car fully engage into Reverse prior to driving.
Let me tell you for a moment how terrified I was on I5 losing all power in my vehicle. I was in a very serious (I was not at fault) accident 10 years ago that left me disabled. I have had 9 related surgeries. So I was whimpering in terror while trying to get off of I5 while my car quickly went down in speed. So I started researching 2015 Chrysler 200’s. To my shock, I discovered page upon page of complaints regarding the EXACT same issue I was having. All starting between 4000 -20,000 miles. You can go to this website to view them: http://www.carcomplaints.com/Chrysler/200/2015/ A couple people even ended up in accidents from the loss of power. So when the dealership called me to tell me that my car was ready the next afternoon, I was quite leery. Upon reading my paperwork and speaking to my ‘advisor’ at Chrysler, I find out that you are completely aware of this issue, and have given dealerships a directive of “tightening the number 15 and 18 pins†and that you will be issuing a recall on them, but you don’t currently have the parts and the capabilities to do that. It states quite plainly on the paperwork that the dealership is then instructed to send the car home with the customer. So you are sending your customers on the road in what could be a death trap. My husband has to drive 6 hours away tomorrow, and again the next Friday. He will be driving a car, that COULD LOSE POWER AT ANY MOMENT! I am on the lemon law for Washington, the next time it happens, as it’s very dangerous, I will be taking you to court. Let me tell you, that if something happens to my husband and family in the meantime……you will not even know what storm hits you. This is unacceptable. These cars should NOT be on the road until they are fixed at 100%. On that website, there are people that had the pins tightened just like mine, and have had it happen over and over. I hope you people can sleep well at night!
