The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and failed to shift from neutral. In addition, the brake light, parking brake, and relay switch indicators illuminated. The contact called a local dealer (atlantic Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, 2330-40 us highway 1 S, St augustine, fl 32086, (904) 797-4383) where the contact was informed to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and referred the contact to the local dealer. The failure mileage was 90,000.

I was driving my car on the freeway in stop and go traffic. I had a good 3-4 car lengths in between myself and the vehicle in front of me. The cars in front of my came to a sudden stop so I slammed on my brakes. The car initially slowed but not at the pace I expected. I pushed the brakes to the floor but the car would not stop. I rear ended the vehicle in front of me totaling the car. There was plenty of room in front of me and the roads were dry. The car should have stopped in time which leads me to believe the brakes were the cause. I had noticed them being delayed in the weeks prior but did not hear any squeaking so I assumed they were fine until this happened.

While driving the vehicle the dashboard/instrument cluster keeps on flashing in and out, staying off for at lease 5 seconds at a time. At night the headlights also flicker on and off. The car also tends to pick up speed while braking. Lets talk about the brakes, the brakes absolutely suck, they don't hold properly at all. While coming to a stop I often have to sink my foot into the peddle and give myself extra feet to stop.

When the vehicle starts to slip just a little bit while going slower speeds the parking break automatically engages. This has caused my vehicle to get stuck in the snow and mud multiple times, as where had it not happened and I could have kept the vehicle moving I would not have got stuck. I'm worried the parking break may try to engage while going faster speeds and starting to hydroplane/slide/etc. This can cause huge life threatening accidents if it were to happen. The most recent time is April 17th in a little bit of mud. But happened approcimately 10 times over this past winter alone. Even though there wasn't a crash, I did get stuck and needed help to get out.

I purchased this 2015 200 Chrysler January 1, 2016 from zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of downers. Address 2311 ogden ave, downers grove, il. Leading up to the engine going out the car would just randomly cut off while in motion and also making turns. I took it back to this dealership and they stated that the engine went out. On June 14,2016 that's when I got an engine replaced. I ask if it was new or used and they assured me that it was a new engine. However keeping up with oil changes, my check engine light came on. I took it to a mechanic and was told that I needed a tune up done. So I got my spark plugs changed. After that the car would just cut off while in motion and also turning. I tried driving the car to work while turning it on whenever it cuts off. The brakes got so tight on me that I had to use both feet to stop the vehicle. I got the car towed to a car shop and they stated that this car had to be looked at by a dealership.so I got the car towed to the nearest Chrysler dealership and they stated that there was 4 things wrong with this car. Then called me back and stated that this car needed an engine. This car is under a hundred thousand miles and with this problem occurring again for the second time. Looking for help and answers.

Immediately after recall work was done I experience issues. When I try to start my car (push to start requires you to push the break and push the button) break peddle won't depress, service transmission lights comes on. I call a tow truck and get it dropped off at the closet dealership. I arrive behind the tow truck and watch it be dropped off explain to service adviser whats going on and I just had recall work done and that is when the issues started. Immediately without even looking at my car or knowing what car is mine she says no its not related to the recall. She is not a technician and doesn't actually know the cause yet. They call later in the day and tell me the body control module has shorted out and needs to be replaced. It is no longer communicating with the tcm(the tcm was updated during recall work but the BCM was not.) the two can longer communicate because they are now basically speaking a different language. Of course I am told not related to recall. The next day I get a call saying my battery that was previously working great can no longer pass a test. Someone was trying to crank and start my car( the car that went in for a break peddle that would not depress and would not start) I now need to pay for a new battery and there is an installation fee to replace the battery. Next day my cars steering wheel controls no longer work and something else has shorted out. My rental car not only has trash in the back seat but a roach that crawls out from in between the seats. I get a call that the tech who worked on my car finished at closing time so to bring back the rental next day! I'm thinking my car wont have any more issues, I'm wrong!! the menu on my car lets you view the tire pressure and temperatures of the vehicle. All of a sudden the oil temp doesn't display. The setting for my doors to be unlocked with the hand sensor on driver door wont work!

After shifting into reverse or drive, the car will not move, then suddenly slams into gear and lunges abruptly. This has happened several times and it is frightening when in traffic. Also, after shifting into reverse or drive and beginning to move, the car suddenly jolts to a stop and feels like it's digging in, and will not move. It then indicates the parking brake has been engaged when I never touched the parking brake. This has also happened numerous times and is also frightening when merging into traffic. When the brake suddenly engages, all on it's own Accord, it is difficult to get it to release.

Takata recall a month after I purchased the car in March 29,2017 my seatbelt light pop on and shortly after less than a week of the seatbelt light coming my airbag light came on buzzing making noise my break was making a noise so I took to american financial on winchester that services the cars but I was told there were nothing wrong with the break but now I really hear the breaks scrubbing the also all 4 tries was replaced with new tires and so now I'm dealing with my tracking light on all the time if it's cold outside I have had the worst time with this 2015 with 42125 milage and I was told that nothing on here were covered under warranty but I have a printout that show that this same seat belt was fixed under warranty 7/2016 and other things were fixed under warranty I really need some assistant with what I have going on because I know I shouldn't have all these issue on this car already

On November 29, 2017 at approximately 5:15 pm, was driving approximately 25mph in traffic on a two lane. I hit the brake to stop, no brakes, and I hit the person in front of me. After hitting them, I bounced off and continued to move with no brakes. My airbags did not deploy and I sustained injuries to me chest, neck, head and back. I was able to steer the car in the right side lane and eventually was able to steer into a parking lot; still with no brakes. I looked down to pull up the emergency brake and saw the shifter in neutral. I then put the shifter in park and the car finally stopped. I do not yet have the police report. I did not receive a ticket, but was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The contact rented a 2015 Chrysler 200 limited from enterprise rental car. While driving 25 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed and jerked. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to slow down. As a result, the contact rear ended another vehicle. The contact's head struck the driver side window and she was knocked unconscious. The contact was awakened by eyewitnesses hitting the window to alert her to exit the vehicle as the cabin filled with smoke. The contact mentioned that the air bags deployed and she felt a burning sensation on her left leg. The contact was unaware if fire was present as she was transported away by ambulance. The contact sustained fractures to her left and right feet and ankles, as well as third degree burs on her left leg, bruises to her ribs, sternum, and left shoulder. The contact was unaware if there were injuries to the other vehicle occupants. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was deemed a total loss. The contact stated that the vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, but was unaware of the diagnosis. The contact stated that the independent mechanic informed her that the Chrysler 200 had many recalls. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that enterprise rental car sold the vehicle for salvage before they could inspect the vehicle. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. While stationary, the vehicle malfunctioned. Upon engaging the push start feature, the brakes and the steering wheel seized and all of the instrument panel lights illuminated without warning. The contact could not depress the brake pedal at all. The contact disconnected the battery and reset the vehicle in order to restart the vehicle. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 60,000.

We traveled two hours away for an event. When we were leaving the park the car stalled. No steering, no brakes, and no dash lights. We almost side swiped a camper before the car finally stopped. Another time driving down a busy highway the cat just dies. Etc light comes on. We take the car ti the dealer and they tell us its because the oil was low. I dont understand how the oil being low is going to stall out the car, there was no indication of oil issues. No lights were on in the dash. This car is unsafe.

The contact owned a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at 61 mph through the mountains, the steering wheel seized without warning. The contact stated that while attempting to maneuver the vehicle going around a bend, the steering wheel became inoperable and the brakes also failed to operate as intended while attempting to stop the vehicle. The contact crashed into an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle then proceeded to crash head on into the rock face of a mountain. The contact stated that the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The contact suffered a bruised knee, bruised ribs, and a severe head concussions which required medical attention. Additionally, two passengers in the other vehicle were uninjured. The vehicle was towed an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was called and notified of the failure. The dealer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.
