In the course of the last year my Chevy Traverse has lost power on the freeway. Our traction control light has come on several times powering down the engine and placing us, me & my family in a very harmful situation. We have taken it to our mechanics they have diagnosed it and replaced several relays. That did not remedy the problem placing me on the freeway once again down in lax with my child in the car powering down & traction light coming on and pulling over and placing us in yet another dangerous situation. I have read the motor vehicle code for California title 49 section 301. This malfunction definitely poses an unreasonable risk to the public. Also, noted on NHTSA, national highway transportation safety administration website notes there is a recall on electrical system was reported.

I was entering the on-ramp going East and my vehicle completely stopped. I was going around 25-30 mph and I had my kids in the car. My computer forced my brakes and I was unable to drive the vehicle. My SUV literally made a full stop while driving at 25-30 mph with my kids in the car and no brake lights ignited. The check engine light and the traction control light came on. They eventually turned off. This happened one other time. I was driving on a residental street and the vehicle stopped again. My husband whom was driving the car said the car just stopped in the middle of the intersection. He tried pressing the traction control button because the check engine light and the traction control light came on and the brakes were forced again and nothing. Imagine going 25mph and stopping abruptly without brake lights for other cars to see. This time I did research and I saw that other 2014 Chevy Traverses were recalled for the chassis module (recall number 14V614000). I saw youtube videos and I checked several consumer the complaint websites and I literally saw over 10 other complaints about the same issue this month! I also put a reader in my vehicle and the two codes that come up is P16aa & P1682. One is for the electronic module system in which the chassis (pertaining to the recall) is listed under). I called the dealer and they said that the recall was active for 2014 Chevy Traverses..... but not mine! I am completely disgusted. These vehicles will kill you - literally and they know it, and they refuse to do anything about it! now I'm paying a car note and I can't even drive it - for the safety of my family, others, and myself. Shame on them - again this is happening to other people! this is a urgent request for help!

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the engine power reduced and check stabilitrac messages appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuse box needed to be changed. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred for over a year and a half. The vehicle was taken to marine Chevrolet (1408 western blvd, jacksonville, nc 28546) to be diagnosed, but no failure was found. The vehicle was repaired by the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: [xxx]. the approximate failure mileage was 82,000. My truck started shaking, after pulling over and turning it off, it cranked and ran normal (several times). The engine light came on and the reading was a starter relay fuse (similar to an ice cube) that was replaced. Then it started shaking, loosing power and not starting (rolling over but not catching). Code read throttle body which was cleaned. The very next morning exiting the interstate it lost power, would not start, again turning over but not catching. Towed to the dealer and diagnosed: Fuel harness wiring. #3 ignition coil, spark plugs and fuel system cleaning. All done except fuel system cleaning. Drove to work, attempted to leave work and the vehicle would not crank, turning over but not cranking. Eventually cranked and 2 days later started jerking. Came to a stop sign, making a left turn it jerked and lost power in the middle of the road. Towed to dealer again replacing the entire fuse box. Fuse box is on back order, pending results.

I was driving on the highway when the car started losing power! as I hit the gas petal it would putt putt as if it wasn't getting any gas. I lost complete power at red light, had to turn the switch all the way down then back up then the car slowly winded up as if it didn't want to start so I had to give it a little gas then it cranked up on the dash board you can see the RPM going up and down as if it wanting to shut off!

C0242, P1682. While driving the stability control turns off reduced engine power and the vehicle turns off leaving you no way to stream the vehicle. This happens at all speeds and in park. This happens everyone the vehicle is driven.

2014 Chevy Traverse ls, 66K miles, purchased used in May 2018. At random, traction control turns off, reduced engine power and sometimes shuts off. Has happened 5 times in the last 3 weeks while driving in traffic, stopped at a red light, and once while car was parked in my driveway! turn car off for about 5 mins, and it runs normally, but check engine light stays on, until the next day then all is normal again. Then the cycle repeats--over and over! after some research, found a recall for this issue (GM #14515), but it did not cover all 2014 Traverses, not to mention this issue affects several GM makes and models and has been a problem since at least 2007!! this problem is well documented by hundreds of consumers who are experiencing the same thing. I find it extremely hard to believe that GM has not been made to make this right via full fledged recall--not just certain vehicles. This is dangerous!! my family and I could have been in a few serious accidents because of this "flaw" that GM is well aware of since they issued a recall to fix it (but not for all affected vehicles). Called GM customer service, and although the person was nice, he said nothing helpful at all (take it to a dealer and pay a $120 diagnostic fee for what? GM knows exactly what's wrong), and advised my car was not a part of the recall. Why not"!?!?!" it most certainly has the issue for which the recall was done!!! the electronic control module needs to be replaced asap before someone gets hurt or killed because my car decided to randomly reduce power and/or shut down. Unless that's what GM is waiting for before they do the right thing. And to think my father spent 36 years working for this company...

It has to be turned off and then wait and restart it again, with a check engine

While driving, car slows to 25mph and dash flashes between the following warnings: Service stabilitrak, traction control off, service traction control, power engine reduced. The check engine light and traction control light also turn on at this time. This has happened 5 times so far. I have been driving on the highway and on side streets when this happens. This is very dangerous and could cause an accident easily.

I purchased this vehicle used and within 3 months my airbag service light came on. I told back to the dealer and I was told my extended warranty would not cover the the airbag service. This is a safety issue and should be covered by the manufacture with the massive airbag recall a few years ago. Now my car dashboard is getting very dim while driving and then brightens and again the dealership is unable to find the problem and this is also a safety problem, with no recall.

Takata recall my computer system told me I had low air pressure in my right front tire. I pulled off the interstate on my way home from work and put air in my tire. After each fill I rechecked the tire pressure through the computer system and it continues to drop in number. I spent around 20 minutes trying to figure out why it didn't look flat but my vehicle was recording it was. I decided it must be a computer error and proceeded to fill my other tires and vacuum my car. I pulled off and something told me to ask the gentleman getting gas if my front right tire looked flat, he said, 'no, it's your back right tire, I can hear the air escaping' sure enough I could hear it to, and could see a large crack in the tire. I decided to continue home but it got to low and had to pull over. So my computer system in my new used car warned me me about a perfectly good tire and pulled my attention away from a tire that had a hole in it. I am very disappointed and feel Chevy needs to fix this and compensate me for having to sit in a big lots parking lot for 2 hours waiting for assistance when I could have been home waiting in my living room had I not wasted so much precious time filling a tire that was perfectly fine.

The car has started to do a shimmy and then the car completely turns off and won't start again. There is always gas in the car, and the oil is changed regularly. The car has been taken to a local repair shop to address the issue. I was told that there is a small electrical connection box under the gas tank that was filled with dirt and getting poor contact. The small box was cleaned out and electric conductive gel was used. The car didn't have a problem for about 9 days and then it started to do the same thing as before. It has turned off mostly when the vehicle is moving. The latest time this happened was 11/6/2018

Ac won't come on or just shuts off while driving, sometimes the service airbag warning comes on, sometimes it sets a check engine light code P0119, if the recirculate button is not on then it lights up and ac compressor shuts off, pull over out of traffic and shut the car off and let everything come to a complete stop and restart the car, sometimes every thing clears up but sometimes it takes several restarts to get car to function properly. Happens driving on road or stationary. Checked battery but seems to be ok, checked fuse box and the entire fuse box is loose, the hold down screws in the fuse box appear to be stripped and will not tighten, shimmed the box to the frame to prevent it from shaking around in the engine compartment. Car was purchased from lakeside Chevrolet in rockwall, tx as a certified used car, it has been back to the dealer for the service airbag issue but they did not resolve the problem. Has been happening every since we purchased the vehicle. Keep looking for recalls but nothing yet. There are considerable complaints about this problem or similar problems. The problem with carrying this vehicle back to dealer is that they don't seem to know how to fix it. General Motors should recall this vehicle and repair it because it is obviously factory defective.

My vehicle only has 45,000 miles. The past few months, I have been experiencing problems with the motor as it suddenly loses potency as the vehicle is in motion. The check engine light is always on. When the motor loses potency, it puts "track control on" and "track control off" right away, as well as a sign to service "stabilitrack". I have taken the car to the mechanic and they did a computerized scan where it shows there are problems with the oxygen sensor, low air entrance, problems with the injectors, low voltage problem, brake system off, etc. In conclusion, a series of problems with the car which are not real. I have searched online and there are thousands to claims due to this same problem I am having. To this date, I have not found any recall of the manufacturer to fix this.

Driving on freeway, warning lights came on with error 'service traction control' and 'engine power reduced'. emergency flashers would not come on. Barely able to limp to the side of the freeway with cars honking and swerving around vehicle. Traverse has 40,000 miles on it. Has had same issue except this time while parked. Turn truck off and restarts fine. Both incidents within a month of buying vehicle used. Took vehicle to carmax, oxnard, ca, 93036 where we have extended warranty. They were not able to replicate the issue and returned vehicle. This was after the first time it happened. In carmax 8/9/2018.

I received an alert that some 2014 Chevrolet Traverses had a recall that required a computer update; however, researching my VIN # shows no recall. I have experienced several electrical type issues that was explained to me that the computer system is losing contact with several modulators. So far it has been my power train modulator, fuel pump modulator and my on-star modulator. I strongly feel like this is a manufacture defect and that a recall should be issued to correct the problem. No accident has occurred at the time of this complaint but I feel that it won't be long before I have an issue that will result in an accident.
