CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer is known for many things, but perhaps it is most famous for its faulty fuel gauge.
This gauge flip-flops more than a politician during election season. Some report that the gauge says "empty" after a fill-up, while others report the gauge says "full" when they're running on fumes. Either way, there's one thing everyone seems to agree on: the darn thing is just wrong.
Following hundreds of complaints and a few accidents allegedly caused by the malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into the issue in May 2011. Unfortunately for frustrated owners, no recall has been announced.

We were on our way to Thanksgiving and 600 miles from home I look down at the speedometer and it is at the 6:00 position. Thankfully I had the cruise control set and we also had our GPS with us. I have seen MULTIPLE boards with this problem yet Chevy refuses to do anything about it. It appears that it will cost 600.00 to 800.00 to fix the problem. Or I can buy a unit off of e-bay. We have always owned Chevy vehicles but I am afraid that this is the last one we will own. We had a Venture before this and it was a nightmare. The power door stopped working, the headlight lenses fell out, something leaked and filled the floorboard but no one could find the cause and at 60,000 miles the intake manifold gasket blew. A friend who was a mechanic said the day we bought it that the 3.4 liter motor was notorious for the gasket and to set money aside. Thankfully we took his advise.
This will be the last Chevy we will purchase. Honda or Nissan may get my money next time.
