PE 00 020/tire tread separation: Two different blowout/tread separations. First, was a left front tire was going flat, and tread separation. Second, left rear tire experienced a blowout/tread separation while traveling at highway speed of 70 mph with driver/one passenger in a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban with original equipment, LT245/75R16, dot# unavailable.
I had a blowout. The tread came away from the tire but only after holding on long enough to ruin my exhaust assembly, fender rr quarter panel and door, and nerf step up bar.( dot number: V611B1A tire size: Lt24575R16 )
Consumer was traveling about 70mph on highway and his vehicle started to vibrate. He pulled over, and left rear driver's side tire had bubbles and started to separate. There were no injuries. Tire was Firestone steel radial #LT245/75R16 load range E manufactured in Mexico. Tire was turned in to Firestone and replaced.
