Tire failure resulted from tread separating in its entirety from the tire carcass. This was preceeded by a brief period of heavy vibration, followed by loud banging noises from the flailing tread, and finally, when the tread separated, deflatoin of the tire carcass. There are no punture or damage evident, and the remains have been checked by both a Michelin tire dealer and the Chevrolet (selling) dealer. There is no history of damage to this or any of the tires on the vehicle. Tire pressure was checked approximately one week prior to this incident. Inflation pressures were used according to the manufacturers range of pressures, and were set at 50psi front and 60psi rear. The speed at which the destructive delamination occurred was approximately 65mph, and weather conditions were approximately 60 degrees F and clear. Travel was on interstate 10. 2 Firestone steeltex tires P245/75R16 experienced tread separation, consumer stated he could tell by the vehicle's handling that there was a problem with the tires, dot # V611 B1A.
While pulling my travel trailer at aproximately 60mph. The tread separated from the remainder of the tire. The tire had good pressure and actually never blew (it still has good pressure). The road conditions were good and I can name no contributing factors to the failure. The tire was showing no separation of wear problems prior to the trip. We had been traveling about 1 1/2 hours. Thank you. (dot number: V611B1A tiresize: Lt24575R16)
At highway speed vehicle developed a pronounced vibration rather rapidly which resulted in stopping the vehicle and upon examination of the vehicle, an abnormality was observed in the shape of the tire. Upon closer examination the tire tread was observed to appear to be separating from the tire. Tread was "bubbled" away from the belting.( dot number: Tire size: 245/75R16 )

Very unusual tread wear pattern on these tires. Under 16K miles on new tires. Tires look like they are ready to seperate treads. Please advise of recall. (tiresize: 245-75R16)( dot number: Tire size: 245-75R16 )
Tread came loose from tire during normal operation. Tread beatup the bottom of the car and damaged the rear heater core and supply hoses. It knocked the muffler up and damaged the outside of the body. We had taken the car to a Firestone tire company and had the tires checked and was told they had never seen these tires have a problem. The problem happend within one week. The car had to be towed 50 miles to the dealership and repairs of over $2000 had to be made. There wer no injuries to passangers. Three of the four Firestone steeltex radial R45 LT245/75R16 tires have failed in less than 20,000 miles on the road. All had tread seperation. I noticed a vibration and had them replaced before they blew out.( dot number: Vn1181A479 tire size: T245/75R16 )
The tread of right rear Firestone tire (LT245/75R) separated resulting in a blowout, the blowout caused the car to swerve and as a result the trailer they were pulling began to fishtail, the car and trailer left the highway and traveled down an embankment where they overturned.
