While traveling to work on a icy road, my accelerator stuck and I couldn't accelerate. It then released all the way to the floor board where it stuck again. I lost control of the pickup and slid into on coming traffic where I had a head on collision. The accelerator sticking was the cause of the wreck and I believe that Chevy is well aware of the problem. Something must be done before it happens again.
My 4X4,6.0 liter 3/4 ton Silverado has a sticky gas pedal. The problem makes the truck leap forward and I had just averted hitting vehicles numerous times. The problem does not last for long. I have not contacted the dealer as it has 50,000 miles now.

While driving and trying to accelerate throttle pedal will get stuck, and will stay at the same speed, causing it to be hard for consumer to stop. Dealer notified.
On three (3) separate occasions over the past two years accelerator pedal has become very difficult to depress, enough so, that I became apprehensive to accelerate in a parking situation, so that I would let the vehicle pick up speed on its own until I was out in an open area. The dealer has "cleaned " the throttle body assembly on each occurrence. After the last service he charged $65 for this service. Upon checking your website I see that this is not an isolated situation. I feel that the manufacturer should be made aware of this potentialy dangerous problem, and that a "fix" should made available at no charge to correct this problem. In regard to the second problem, I was very surprised, and disappointed when $1500 in repairs was necessary to repair the ring and pinion assembly in the rear end. The servicing dealer in all of these incidents was not the dealer that I bought the vehicle from, but it was tom gibbs Chevrolet, bunnell, fl. (386) 437-3314.
80% of the times that you attempt to mome from a stop the accellerator hangs up and you have to exert tremendous pressure on the accellerator pedal to break it loose. The only safe way to do this is to put the vehicle out of gear. This can be very dangerous in traffic. I believe the manufacturer should repair this defect at no cost to me even though the vehicle is out of warranty.
Accelerator pedal sticks at first start, consumer has to press down hard to get it to unstick, then vehicle will surge forward. Dealer replaced the throttle body. Consumer adds had to replaced U-joints that were making a squeaking noise.
While pulling into main highway, accelerator pedal stuck and caused vehicle to accelerate out of control. Vehicle hit a tree before stopping, consumer stated he had to kick the gas pedal to get the pedal unstuck. Dealer and manufacturer were not notified at this time, one person was injured.
Increased pedal effort from idle position, I am afraid that if I am close to something or someone I will run into it! I am always spinning the back wheels because of this problem. I believe since Chevrolet is aware of this problem by issuing a bulletin, why don't they replace for free on non warrantied vehicles.
Was pushing on accelerator pedal and vehicle fail to accelerate forward. Pedal was stuck and then suddenly would take off. Pedal throttle cable had released. Took to dealership, and mechanic repaired throttle body.
