CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 has an early trend of the transmission shifting hard, surging & jerking.

At the moment these trucks are still under warranty. However this transmission problem shows up right away with the average reported mileage only around 3,000 miles, so for now the 2017 Silverado earns our "Beware of the Clunker" badge.

While traveling down the road at different speeds, the steering wheel will rapidly jerk and then I lose all power steering. Took it to a mechanic, I was told there was a malfunction code of C0545, which is a power steering torque sensor malfunction and that the power steering control module needed to be reprogrammed and updated.

Al these lights came on out of no where one cold day. Steering assist, ABS, break. Also service trailer brake, service stabilitrak. I went online there are so many people with the exact issue. Recall your mistake and fix your problem. Don't screw the customer. I locked up my brakes because the car in front of me and I almost hit them due to my ABS not working I fish tailed sideways. It's a matter of time before someone is hurt. It is a big issue many people have spoke about. I also explained to the guy when I scheduale the recall to be fixed and he said that my lights out a different issue the recall is just a program update for something with the brakes. Then I bring it there 45min later they cant update the truck and complete the recall due to the lights on in the truck!!! I'm just upset I explained everything before appointment and still got screwed. Also after looking there is a lot of people with the exact problem as me.. weird

It happens intermittently.. as I slow up to a speed under 10 miles an hour, as soon as I turn the steering wheel, the vehicle will lose power, either turning off and on fast the dash will lose power but the motor will still be running... sherry this happens, the steering feels like theres resistance turning and the only way to fix it is to turn off the vehicle and let it sit. Other times it will happen and the vehicle will lose total power, almost like I removed the key but the vehicle will still be rolling. The steering wheel has locked twice all while the vehicle is still in motion as well and brakes are non functioning. Its happened several times going through intersections, pulling into my driveway, and U turns. It never happens in reverse. Ill never own a Chevy again...

The steering wheel vibrates at around 65 mph. It feels like you are rolling over rumble strips. The dealership balanced the tires, but the vibration continues. Researching the issue indicates it may be a problem with the torque converter.

Steering column failure causing slow speed accident in parking lot and involving loss of steering and impact with lamp post. Vehicle damage to bumper and driver side front fender but not involving front driver side wheel, so steering column failure could not have been caused by incident. Vehicle then had no steering control and is undriveable.

While driving on ca 395 North with snowy conditions, I exited to the viewing overlook. At a low speed and my steering locked up. I could not force the wheel to move in any direction but lucky I rolled to a stop in the turn out. I turned the truck on and off 2-3 times and steering remained locked. I waited about 3 mins to try turning the truck on again and the eps came back on.

For no apparent reason the stabilitrack service indicator will activate in a variety of settings, ie low speed on a road, high speed on an interstate, parked in a parking, etc. I have taken the vehicle to our local GMC dealer and they are unable to replicate the issue or locate a code that is occurring when this warning indicator activates; this occurred last week and as recently as this morning while I was driving to work

I am requesting that dot NHTSA investigate the extreme wobble/vibration/shake on new 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The vehicle was purchased new and driven under 55 mph for the first 500 miles. After the first 500 miles and beginning to drive highway speeds, between 60 - 75+ miles per hour, a wobble/vibration/shake began to occur. When the wobble/vibration/shake begins the driver feels that control of the vehicle is being lost and the driver must decrease the speed, which is able to be accomplished with both releasing foot off of the accelerator or lightly breaking, in order to regain control. The vehicle has been to the dealer for front left wheel replacement due to the inability of original tire to be balanced, the vehicle has field force balancing 3 times, and the left front axle boot has been replaced. After several attempts to correct the wobble/vibration/shake, the vehicle now has ~10,000 miles, the wobble/vibration/shake continues to occur at highway speeds.
