I have a 2016 Silverado which was purchased new, the vehicle has now 35K miles. Recently the radio display which contains the intelink and other adaptive controls began randomly going through multiple screens on my dashboard, and touch screen radio screen including digital speedometer turning off and going to random music stations, the radio flickering as if searching for different signals, and going through different screens, blue tooth, ac, radio volume going extremely loud, driver info screen going blank, etc... causing a horrible distraction, and will not turn off a search on the internet shows multiple GM vehicles for the years 2016-2020 with the same problem I have contacted local dealer who states car is not under warranty anymore. This is definitely a safety issue on this vehicle and I would like to report this to the NHTSI

Atmospheric temperature, 33 degrees F. Windows slightly frosted. Remote started vehicle and cleared side and front windshield of frost. Entered vehicle, inserted keys and drove approximately 300 ft to drop off mail. While sitting in the vehicle and the vehicle was in park, and running. I heard a very load pop and and observed left side window had shattered. This is the driver side rear window, left side looking from rear of vehicle. The window was bowed out slightly and some loose pieces of glass were observed. This occurred approximately 3 minutes after the initial start of the vehicle. No other damage observed. This vehicle had been previously subject to a recall regarding the powered rear window defroster circuit. The dealer corrected this recall on February 7, 2020.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado LT Crew Cab Standard Box A/C Condenser (GM Part Number 84802253) cracked at weld and failed at approximately 63,000 miles, resulting in refrigerant leaking to atmosphere and loss of cooling. The affected component is very similar to the TSB 17336 from GM on like vehicles. There were no warnings or indicators that signaled that this component had failed. Owner located weld failure independently.

Vehicle entertainment center has intermittent issues with the hands free, bluetooth connection. The system reverts back to non hands-free operation or mutes the call randomly. The entertainment center also randomly scrolls, selects radio stations and changes modes when not in a call. Happens while vehicle is in motion at low and high speed, in all associated conditions. This distracts the driver and has the potential to result in a fatal accident. Other Chevy Silverado of various years exhibit the same issue as evidenced by a number of internet forum and you tube posts by owners. A date of occurrance is provided, but it's happened numerous times over the past two years.

The truck will cut engine at any speed, totally losing power to breaks, steering, odometers etc. It mostly comes back on after a few seconds and sends a code of many different kids (service park assist, stabiitrac, roll window down and back up, trailer brake assist etc) this is very dangerous and needs to be recalled. This could happen during a critical driving move and could end up deadly. Currently, there are 70,000 miles on this truck and out of standard warranty and will probably cost a lot to fix. (labor mostly) research shows that this is pretty common and very scary. GM even has a service bulletin out (18-na-161) showing that this is a common problem and is very dangerous, thus need to cover the recall right away.

Cold weather (25-30 degrees?) on 12/24, so remote started truck and began driving (rear defroster auto starts). Heard slight sizzle noise, but couldn't figure out what it was...then wife (riding in back) heard it get worse, then a little smoke, then rear-window on driver side popped/cracked/shattered (truck has a sliding rear window, so 3 sections). Didn't blow out, but is completely shattered. Taped it to keep pieces from blowing apart. Talked to dealer and GM customer care, and they advised of an open customer satisfaction program for this issue, but it only applies to vehicles in certain states (cold weather)...including mi, but I'm 1 hour South in northern in. #N192265660-01 is the program number (rear window defroster thermal events - us only _(Mar 25, 2020). The problem also seems to be more common in Canada where a full recall is in effect. At this point, however, GM customer care (case # 9-6442774509) says they can't do anything and referred me back to dealer...who I will assume will refer me back to cust care again. I'm waiting on their response. Makes no sense that they will reimburse only for vehicles in certain states. I'm in the same cold climate as Michigan and many of the other impacted states. Looking for reimbursement of costs to repair, but for now I'm waiting to make sure someone will pay for it. This is a known issue that GM is refusing to reimburse (even though they are clearly willing in many other states). Any suggestions?

Vehicle was stationary, in driveway of residence, running after being started with remote start. Temperature outside was about 35F. Front and rear window defrosters typically come on when the vehicle is remote started in the winter months. Rear window of truck has three separate panes, the two outer panes are stationary and the middle slides opens via a switch in the overhead console. All windows in vehicle were closed. I was standing beside the vehicle when there was a loud cracking sound and small pieces of the rear window pane behind the driver fell to the ground. The window continued to make a cracking sounds for several minutes after the initial sound. There is a slight smell of electrical wire burning inside the vehicle very close to the bottom left side of the damaged pane of glass. Despite the following information, GM claims that the VIN of the vehicle is not subject to the recall. I turned on the rear defrost to the vehicle. Within about 30 seconds, I saw smoke rising from the center part of the rear window as if the defroster had started a fire. I immediately turned the rear defrost off and the smoke ceased. Within a mater of seconds, the right panel of the rear window popped very loudly as it shattered, presumably from the fire. I was driving on a rural road when this occurred. I do have a power rear window on the vehicle and there is a recall already in Canada for Chevrolet Silverado's of my model year with the rear power window having fires started by the rear defroster.

When driving, if I do something electrical, like applying the brakes or using my turn signal, the entire car electrical system shuts off for a second and sometimes jerks the steering wheel out of my hand. It usually restarts immediately on its own while driving. I've had it also while parked with just the radio on, that everything just died. Then it took a few tries before the truck engine turned over to try starting

I have been dealing with transmission issues since I bought the vehicle. There is dirt and sand inside my brake lights, rust under the seats, dirt and rust under the dash, brake calipers are horribly rusted and painted to be covered up by the selling dealership, wiring issues continue to arise and repaired by my mechanic. Trailer brake system is now failing. Steering is having issues now, either bad tie rods or bad cv joints. I have had complete loss of electronic power steering in the past. I suspect this vehicle was in a flood and the dealership covered it up. I have been dealing with this since January of 2019, and I have text records starting April 7th 2019. The vehicle was purchased from a family member's dealership and I bought an extended warranty. They have been less than helpful. Seeking legal help is my last resort.

As I was backing out of my driveway the truck suddenly shut off and the steering wheel jerked hard out of my hand. The screens all went blank. I was halfway onto the road when this happened and luckily the oncoming traffic was able to stop in time. I restarted the car and it did it again. It took three times to get the car going. I immediately called the dealer to take it in for service. On the way to the dealer it happened again and prior to the screen just blacked out only then the ac blower fan surged on and off. The vehicle again shut off as I was turning from dual highway to the dealer and the steering wheel jerked out of my hands and the brakes locked. Also when I backed out that morning the rear felt like their was some slippage. I bought my 2016 Silverado used in 2018 with 24K miles on it. The odometer just turned 50K two days ago, so this vehicle has not been driven hard and has always had proper service.I began researching and there are thousands of the same complaint online so I thought there must be a recall. However, the dealer tells me that there is only a "bulletin" and that since I am out of warranty I have to pay for the known repairs needed to fix this issue that clearly GM is aware of. Repairs are over 1300 dollars! I can not believe that GM knows about such a dangerous problem and will not fix it for owners. How many injuries and deaths must occur before a bulletin warrants becoming a recall? I also noted that the previous owner, right before I bought the vehicle according the the car fax took the vehicle for service due to electrical problems. So this was known by GM and dealer when I bought the truck. Deceitful. I have a family that relies on this vehicle for transportation and now I can't afford to fix it or trade it and it is not safe to drive. Help!

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel ceased and jerked without warning. Additionally, the instrument panel was inoperable. The failure was remedied independently and the vehicle returned to normal operation. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to walker jones mega center (2718 memorial dr, waycross, ga 31503, (912) 490-8033) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to the connection between the positive and negative battery terminals. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the repair was not covered under warranty or a manufacturer's recall. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
