I have a 2014 Silverado with 60K miles. On Sunday, I was pulling into the garage after a short errand and I lost most of the braking power. I was able to stop the truck by pressing the brake pedal hard. I immediately drove backwards and it did the same thing. I restarted the vehicle the issue went away, mind you during all of this the ABS light never came on either. Searching online I found a bulletin in some rare situations, a customer may comment on a hard brake pedal or that increased effort is needed to depress the brake pedal. While performing normal diagnostics, fluid may be found in the brake booster and/or the booster vacuum line. If engine oil is found, it is important the following parts are replaced. If not, the condition will return. 1. vacuum pump 2. vacuum line between the booster and the pump 3. brake booster 4. master cylinder after finding this and reading all the accounts I feel like GM needs to make this a special coverage. This is 100% safety concern

I've had to get a new paint job because clear coat was coming off. Egnition switch locked up. Check engine light has come on multiple times I take it to the dealership and they say nothing is wrong with it. But tell me I can't let it get below a half tank of gas. Back axles lock up. And seat belts lock when going about 50 miles per hour. And the air condenser cought on fire. Now when I take it to the dealership they say they can not diagnose the problem. I have spent around $6000 in repairs

Radiator leak which lead to needing replacement. This was not covered under power train warranty. However several memos from GM indicate radiators cracking leading to replacement which is covered under warranty.

The relay in the engine shut the power down to the engine. I am reporting this because it only happens in extremely cold weather. In my case it happened in -32 degree windchill, which stranded me for an hour. In talking with the dealership and doing research online it seems as this is an ongoing problem.the problem happened after I had stopped and started after many tries. The reason I am reporting this is because I would hate to see someone else have a problem in extreme cold weather and it turn into a tragedy for a family. Sincerely [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Noticed coolant steam weeping out of the front grill. Origin of leak is radiator. There is a special coverage from GM for this issue, 15829. I was told by my dealer as well as GM that my VIN is not eligible to receive the special coverage. My truck year/make/model is clearly described in the special coverage bulletin as a viable candidate for this issue.

Truck seems to have an issue when shifting gears. The truck jerks hard when it shifts ramdonly at lower speeds (5 to 25 mph) and can sometimes startled you because it makes you think that you been rear ended by another vehicle. When coming to S stop the truck has a hard time deciding which gear to be on and after you are at a complete stop just about 3 seconds later you feel a strong hit coming from the back of the truck moving the truck forward about a foot if your not pressing on the break really hard, this also happens but with more intensity after the truck has been moved in reverse and it put in drive it takes a few seconds to engage and you feel a strong jerk forward without giving it gas. Last but not least the truck shakes more than normal while in idle almost to the point where it feels like its going to shut off.

I have been noticing some serious electrical issues in the last few weeks with my 2014 Silverado 1500. It started with the "anti-theft detterent" system acting up and not allowing me to start the car. After flipping the key a few times, it went away. Then the problem progressed to when turning the key it was if the battery was dead. Everything would go black (lights, info center, dic, etc). After a few minutes of sitting, I could turn the key and it would start up no problems. Then it all just went away for about 2 weeks. Then just a few days ago, I was turning into a shopping center and the truck just died. The dash, the lights, the engine, everything. I nearly took out the entrance sign of the parking lot. Hanging with my back end in traffic I quickly popped it neutral, restarted the truck, and pulled in. I couldn't recreate the problem. I drove to autozone and had them check the battery and alternator. Everything was fine. About an hour later, in the drive thru at chick fil a, I placed the car in park, received my food, and as soon as I shifted out of park the truck died again, along with the dash and everything else. Restarted and drove home. I spent about 30 mins driving around the block and sitting in the driveway trying to recreate the problem. I have yet to recreate.

I was stopped on a heavily travelled road, waiting to make a left-hand turn. The engine suddenly stalled and I lost my power brakes and steering when this happened. I took the truck to the dealer and was told that the ac compressor locked-up. I believe the compressor locking-up caused the truck to stall. Had I been turning when this happened, a collision or worse could have occurred.

Some 2014 model year Chevrolet Silverado ld and GMC Sierra ld vehicles equipped with 5.3L or 6.2L engines (RPO L83 or L86), may have a condition in which the cycling of the thermostat may result in stress fractures on the radiator, and may lead to coolant leaks.
