: the contact stated while driving in the rain the windshield wipers work intermittently and the windshield wiper motor made a grinding noise. Although the dealership was contacted, no repairs were made. The windshield wiper mot failed and had to be replaced.
The windshield wipers work intermittently and eventually stopped working altogether. The consumer could hear the motor running, but they did not move the arms. Took vehicle to a dealer, and no repairs were performed because consumer's vehicle was not included in recall 03V159000 due to VIN. Dealer did not know why this problem occurred.
Constant repair of Chevy truck, replaced transmission, computer, brakes several times, wiper motor, interior lights failed, air conditioning, clicking noise for re-circulation air fan, door do not open or they stick.
Windshield wiper motor failed. Follow up with dealer after heard about recall and told recall did not cover my truck. I looked on your list of complaints filed and there appear to be over 100 failures reported related to these motors - why are these a recall item.
Windshield wipers work intermittently. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was not covered under reacall. Feel free to provide any further information.
My problem is with the windshield wipers, only work sometimes, I know others who have Chevrolet pickups made in 1994 and 1995 have the same problem with windshield wipers.
Chevrolet will not honor the recall of the defect. Have called them and emailed them and they refuse to repair a known recall issue. NHTSA campaign id number : 98V150001. No safety defect listed within summary.
Windshield wipers will stop intermittently during operation. Dealer performed recall 96V0229. But problem still exists. Consumer had to pay 50 percent for cost of repairs.
Windshield wipers don't work half the time. Sometimes they work fine, sometimes they don't even start (just get a grinding sound from the wiper motor), and sometimes they work at full speed when set to slowest speed. C series trucks have been recalled for the exact same problem, but when Chevy customer support was contacted, they said it didn't apply to the K series (4 wheel drive) and that I was out of luck. C series was recalled for same problem in September of 1998. The original malfunctioning part was replaced on this truck in February of 1997 with the same malfunctioning part. In my opinion, since the recall of the cseries wasn't until 9/98, then the part that was replaced was the exact same malfunctioning part. What I want to know is why were only the cseries trucks recalled if it was a problem common to all of the Chevy trucks?
Two years ago windshield wipers would suddenly start working and would not stop, regardless of the position the switch was in. Consumer had wiper motor replaced which corrected the problem. However, problem has reoccurred, and dealership has not examined vehicle. Consumer stated that the wiper arm assembly was adjusted and now the wipers work properly.
While traveling in a rain storm windshield wipers would not start. Consumer pulled vehicle over and tapped on the windsheild wiper box, wipers started running.
This is a intermitent problem on which a recall was issued from General Motors. But my VIN was not covered. Windshield wipers will stop at any given time, causing a dangerous situation.
Windshield wipers stop working when it rains, but the manufacturer says my vehicle is not part of the 98V150001 or 98043 recall. But the symptoms are the same as the others are experiencing.
Windshield wipers fail intermittently, causing poor visibility. Consumer claims it is same defect as mentioned in recall 98V150001. But this vehicle is not included due to VIN.
