While driving on the highway, the windshield wipers stopped working while it was pouring. When the drivers side wiper stopped it was completely off the windshield and the passenger wiper was in front of the drivers side. This caused very poor visibility and was very dangerous. I had to go across multiple lanes to pull over.

Have a 2014 Equinox lt. Is just over 2 years old, with just over 65K miles on it. Just recently had the windshield wipers stop working while on the highway. Called GM dealer regarding the 2010-2013 model year wiper ball joints in wipers recall. Service specialist tells me my 2014 is not affected and is not included in the recall and "would only be covered if GM see fit to issue one including 2014 model year including your VIN". well guess what the problem is the same common broken ball joint in the wiper transmission that these vehicles were recalled for. However in my case because my model year is not included I have to foot a $180 repair bill. The vehicle was in motion on the highway when the problem happened.
