I was checking a lot of the stats online for the 2014 Chevy Cruze and there were already reports out safety reports that there were some issues with the vehicles ignition and power steering and there were numbers and codes and I'm a bit upset because they sold me this vehicle knowing that there was some things that were wrong with the vehicle and that could have been my safety at risk while I'm driving on the road and the engine just shuts down the way it's been doing.
NHTSA is number 11193552 I have the same problem as this customer to the T. the cars radio will shut off while driving after I take they key out while parked the key fob will not lock the car and then if put into the ingishon it will eat the key and lock up. This is a common problem that needs to be looked into there shouldn't be a youtube video with 50K views on how to get your car key out of the ingishon after the elitrical problems. Please fully read NHTSA number 11193552 report as it is the most detailed and reliable source of info for this problem. It happens more often then once so the date when this happend will be the latest accornce of this.
NHTSA is number 11192482 same problem as this customer raido shuts off while driving then key fob will not lock the car after pulling the key out after this happens nothing will lock or turn on.put the key in and it will lock up the key in the ingishon and not even get into the on position ( iv made corrections to the NHTSA number )
To whom it may concern, I would like to file a complaint on the safety hazard caused by faulty blind spot detectors on Chevy Cruze. I started receiving a notification on my dashboard that the blind spot alert system needed service. Only a week later I was receiving notifications that the alert was turned off. When I took it to the Chevy dealer they ran the software and said that it was defective and they needed to replace the blind spot detector modules for $900. At first GM seemed willing to work and start a case file and lowered the price to $734. Currently my cars blind spot isn't working and it seems to have spread to the rear cross traffic alert which is notifying me that it's turned off as well. The Chevy dealer said that they would try and replace the blind spot modules and hopefully that would fix the rear cross traffic detectors. Due to the class action lawsuit (seen here) https://www.truthinadvertising.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/hudson-V-general-motors-complaint.pdf and various other online complaints ( https://chevroletforum.com/forum/Impala-14/blind-spot-detection-problem-81694/page2/) I believe Chevrolet and GM should be held accountable for the faulty safety systems they have installed.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. While driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle shut off and the key failed to release from the ignition. The vehicle was jumpstarted and returned to normal. The contact called crain Chevrolet (9911 I-30, little rock, ar 72209, (501) 436-4484) who stated that diagnostic testing was needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 59,045.

While driving my car the radio dashboard will start flashing on and off on its own then when I put the car in park and turn it off the key is stuck in the ignition and the dashboard is completely black and the car will not turn on at all. 3/28/2019 around 11pm the car radio dash board was flashing and I turn my car off and it will not allow me to take the key out at all well some time through out the night the car turned back on because at 6am the lights where back on in my car by itself. The next morning I drive my car to school and it does the same thing with the dashboard and flashing on and off and it shuts off again, this time I get a jump start and the car is back working. The car also act as if it was going to shut off while driving it. But it has done this to me back on November 8,2018. I fear for my life driving this car beacuse you have no idea when the car will shut off while on the road. Someone has to do something about this issue because if some one die in a car accident and it is found to be electrical problems there is a big law suit coming. I am making this complaint just for that. We spends literally thousands of dollars on a car and when the car has a defect the consumers are messed over by the dealerships and whom ever makes the car. Then you have to have so many complaints in order for a recall or is it how many people have to die in order for someone to look and see that this car has electrical issues and will shut off on you at ant time.hello! it never fails the car starts giving you issue after the warranty has expired its like they have it program.I am complaining because they are avoiding the fact that this car has major electrical issues and how many complaints or lives will it take for a recall? my car was stationary, in motion, on the highway when this all happened. I've noticed my radio and lights on screen goes out while I'm driving sometimes and I think that's an electrical problem and could probably start fire.
We have had to replace the entire def system twice, replaced two knock sensors, had to replace the diesel partilec sensor, among many other time being the shop. This car has not ran right since we bought it. Now, everytime we start the car and begin to drive it, we get a warning about the stabiltrak not working, then powersteering goes out, and entire car shuts down and goes black when the car is powered off. This seems to be a very common issue within these vehicles.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. When the vehicle was purchased, it experienced electrical failures and shut on and off. Also, the brakes skipped and the vehicle jerked when coming to a stop. The failures occurred while the vehicle was being test driven. Premier car sales llc (5425 elvis presley blvd, memphis, tn 38116) stated that the failures would be repaired before the sale was final. The dealer claimed that the vehicle was taken to an unknown Chevrolet dealer for repairs. After the sale of the vehicle, the brake failure recurred and the contact returned to the dealer. The contact was informed to take the vehicle to a Chevrolet dealer for repairs since it was under warranty. Before the contact could take the vehicle to a dealer, she was involved in a crash. While making a left turn in the rain, the vehicle shut off and slid into the side of a curb. The axles, rotor, spindle, and rims were fractured. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer to be diagnosed and they stated there were no recalls. The contact was referred to General Motors. The contact bought new rotors, a new spindle, and rims and had them replaced by an independent mechanic. General Motors refused to investigate the failure because repairs had been made; however, the brakes continued to malfunction. The failure mileage was 36,000.
The steering wheel sticks when I am driving. It's extremely noticeable when driving on the highway or making turns. The electrical system comes on and off when the vehicle is operational. All of a sudden my radio will go on and off and the air conditioner and the heater will stop working. I have 5 children and 3 still at home and I'm afraid to drive my car but unfortunately it's all we have.
When the vehicle comes to a stop the headlights start to glitch, the radio goes off and a warning for the stabilitrak comes on as well as a power steering warning. Once the car comes to a stop intermittently it will go completely dead and the negative battery cable if tapped on will cause the vehicle to come back on with no issue. Battery has been replaced as new but issue still occurs
Problem no.1, my Cruze has lost power, the heater puts out cold air, the radiator is losing fluid, the engine has started to over heat, and there is wet spot under the exhaust pipe when I idle the engine! that means my car has ether a blowen head gasket or cracked head! the car has less then 85,000 miles and if the head is cracked, I think I know why because GM decked the block the short-way center out to the ends! witch can leave a valley in the center of the block! they made the same mistake with the Grand Am quad-4! the head all cracked between cylinders 2 and 3 because the block wasn't decked square! I have to take it to the dealer on sat 12/29/18 wish someone would check the block, I know the dealer will try to blame my and to make me pay for some or all of it, even though it is sill under warranty! problem no.2, I purchased a new Chevy Cruze eco with a manual transmission 4 years ago, I got it because I wanted a high mpg car and I have been driving standard transmission since I started driving and I knew I could better mileage then rated (65.5 mpg my best score!), but the shifter has to much slop in it, I had a cutlass with a hurst shifter that was 16 inches tall and used that had less slop! I have complained to dealer about it since the day I got car! three times I have put the transmission in both first and third gear at the same time! I can't tell you how many time I have missed the shift while still holding all the way in position! if I am in a hurry I can't find the gear at all! problem no.3, the hydraulic throw-out bearing is slushy and slow. Because the master-cylinder and feed-line is to small! I am a fast shifter, and I can out shift the clutch! that is bad because the pressure plate doesn't close fast enough it causes excess ware and burning of the clutch!
Vehicle is experiencing severe issues with the power when vehicle is in motion. On several occasions I have been driving down the road and the vehicle will all of a sudden, without warning shut down multiple essential components - including power steering, headlights, radio will go in and out, display screen will go off, turn signals, etc. Pretty much anything that takes power will fail. However the vehicle will still remain on (and not in aux mode) and acceleration will not be affected. Around the time that these issues began a warning light for stabilitrack came on the dash board and several more warning lights have come on since. This has occurred when vehicle has been on city streets and freeway including as I have been negating a turn. This has caused an extreme safety hazard as I have almost lost control of vehicle and run off the road or hit other vehicles head on during the failure.
I bought the car from a dealer in 2014 and whenever I don't drive it for a 24 hour period the battery will be dead and require a jump start. I've changed the battery 4 times but the battery isn't the problem. Something is killing the battery.

The car shuts off will not start after a period of time it will start again all instruments lights ect go wacky engine light comes on reverse lights are on when in park car will shake than shut off.very dangerous at red lights or stop signs.I see there are a lot of same complaints but GM refuses to do anything about it.
Radio/screen turned off and the car's steering was affected. Twice within the same hour. I was driving on the highway when this happened. Highly dangerous.
Driving home from work at 11:15pm on September 8th, nearing the toll plaza in gary, Indiana the car made a sudden sound kindve like a bang, the engine shut off, all the lights on the dash came on, I came to a stop and tried several times to start the vehicle and it would not do anything. Every time I tuned the key to the off position and then turned it to accessory, the dash displays service air bag and service power steering. The windows, door locks, truck release will not work. I had to call my insurance company and set up a tow to get the car back home. I had to be at work at 7am that day, I worked 16 hours, and didn't get home till 1:30am on September 9th. The car is in my driveway, it will not start or even turn over.
Car will turn off while driving. Ive owned this car for a little over a year and just started doing this 5 times in the last 2 weeks. This has happened while on highway in traffic, twice in town in traffic. The car is in motion on the higway when this happened, it also has happened turning onto higway with other cars behind me I almost got rear ended by a car behind me cause the car lost power! it has also turn itself off and on in park. This needs to be fixed before there is a major accident that causes bodly harm!!! this is a safety hazarrd!!! I bought extended warranty on this car. I have an appointment with the dealership July 31st to find the issue. I also have contacted GM. I know that there was a recall for ignition problems concerning this vehilce in 2014, when you pull up my VIN there has been no recall. I am very concerned for my safty in this car. I have had a friend that has a code reader look and it said there is an engine issue"??" I do not want to have to get an attorney involved but I will if this becomes an issue. This is very scary!!!!
It started with the radio turning off while braking and the radio continued to go off and on I contacted GM who claims it's not an electrical defect" first issue the car can be off keys out of ignition and you can press the on button for the radio and it plays? now it's starting to drive funny and most recently it starts with the remote start every time but when I use the key it doesn't always start" this is a huge issue!
