One panic stop to avoid a collision. The front brakes locked up. They smoked and had a burnt odor, the dealer resurfaced the rotors, fixed a brake line. Now when stopped, the brake pedal slowly goes to the floor, though I do have braking power when moving. The dealer rechecked it and told me this is normal. An independent mechanic says not. To date, the dealer has not fixed the problems.
Slowing to a stop with foot on brake, behind a small pickup truck which had a wall board extending out of rear of truck, had full pressure on brake pedal, and vehicle started to jump up and down. Had to hold foot on brake pedal and shift into park; engine speeded up, and was able to shut off engine. Consumer thought computer on brakes malfunctioned. However, dealer could not find anything wrong.
2 incidents: I was trying to turn into a parking space and the car would not stop so I couldn't turn in. Less than a week later, a vehicle in front of me stopped quickly. I had about 25-30 feet of room in front of me to stop and the brakes did not work. I ended up in an accident because I couldn't stop.
Upon applying brakes quickly ABS will kick in and vehicle will keep on going. Vehicle has also had many other problems--windows, stereo, door inserts, grill, headlights, all of which either had to be replaced or repaired.
