My 1995 Chevrolet Blazer was in a head on collision with a 4 foot tall cement flower pot. My Blazer was going approx. 25 miles per hour at impact and made contact with the flower pot directly in the center of the car. The damage included pushing the bumper, grill, and radiator back into the fan and also buckling the hood. The insurance company totaled my vehicle, estimating about $7800. Worth of damage. The airbag never deployed. I contacted Chevrolet about this problem and they told me that they "in their opinion the airbag was not defective because the car did not come to an abrupt stop". my question is how would they know what happened if they never asked how much damage there was or looked at the car or even asked me to send them pictures of the car? I think they just couldn't even be bothered. If the driver hadn't been belted in, she surely would have hit the windshield.
