Consumer noticed that engine check light comes on for approximately 5minutes at a time whenever driving more than 30minutes. The light would come on and stay for approximately 15 seconds four to five times. Consumer has an appointment with dealership on 4-22-99, to have vehicle put on diagnostics machine for testing.
Consumer was pulling boat or load, the carbon broke loose from engine, creating a vacum leak which got into the egr valve, sending false message through check engine light. Also it threw the brakes out. Dealership replaced the egr valve on July 10-98. Afterwards, it five happened five other times.
I recieved two letters from Chevrolet (1) Dec. 1998 recall # C98043-S (2) Feb. 1999 #C98066 my 1995 Blazer has defects which could cause crash, injury, or death due to engine surge, engine knock, engine stall, rough idle, hard starting, legr valve, power brake failure
Owner has had vehicle for 2 yrs and the following items have been replaced: Spark plub wire, 2 spark plugs, 3 oxygen sensors, egr valve, controller, PCM/vcm, front rotors, all new brakes, universal joint, fuel injector, ABS computer, 4 new tires, new battery, and new starter. Vehicle has also had 3 recall notices.

We were told by several people that Blazer had a recall for the wipers but our dealer said no. They will stop running after the engine becomes warm--first they pause then stop altogether-- we need to know if there is any recall
Engine check light came on. When taken in for the service, the mechanic stated that the egr valve was stuck. The valve was taken out, cleaned and replaced at owner's expense. A week later the light was on back again. The problem has not been corrected. The manufacturer is not willing to replaced the egr valve because the Blazer is out of the warranty.
EA94-038; the defective ABS braking system malfunctioned. When applying the brake pedal the vehicle vibrates and engine check light comes on; and extended stopping distance. Dealer cannot determine problem.
Intermittently when brakes are applied, the pedal goes to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance. Owner parked vehicle, when she started the vehicle up the engine check light was on. The dealer has not been notified.
ABS brake problems; while driving 55 mph on regular road conditions during normal braking, stepped on brakes, the pedal went to the floor. Pedal could not be pushed down any harder. Blazer slowed down, but was not braking. Driver let up on the pedal, pushed down; let up, pushed down; let up and brakes went to work. Continued to parking lot. Trying to stop, stepped down and no brakes again. The Blazer stopped by concrete bumper. Engine check light came on in the stopping process. Taken to dealership afterwards, dealer not able to find a problem in computer.
