Front headlamps have a recurring failure due to a design flaw with the housing.

The passenger headlamp assembly had to be replaced in April, 2014 because moisture shorted it out. This cost $1450 out of pocket, repaired by the dealer with new GM parts. Now less than 2 years later, the same passenger headlamp is out due to the same reason. I have read about many similar complaints on headlamps for this model. Not safe when headlamps suddenly go out.

Takata recall, both of my headlight assemblies have been changed the year is less than 6 yrs old. The lights went out at night while driving. GM wants $1200 for just the assembly not labor. They leak and moisture get inside and blows out the bulbs and shorts out the electrical system. This is bs and there should be a recall. GM using the cheapest junk possible and selling it for as much as possible, way to go GM, put my wife and daughter life at risk so you could make more money....you make me sick. After this Cadillac I will never ever buy another Cadillac. You have broke me with your cheap crap there are 50 and 60 yr old caddys that still have original headlight assemblies that don't leak, all over the internet caddys newer than my 2010 Srx are having the same problem. This is sad and it is irresponsible for GM not to remake these assemblies so they don't leak. And find a supplier that doesn't charge $1200 for a assembly that will leak in less than 5 yrs totally not satisfied, this is only the worst of the long line of issues we have had with our Cadillac, it looks like caddy is going downhill. We will look for a better built vehicle and ya'll can have this high dollar cheap junk! pisses me off that both headlight assemblies leaked and cost on average $2000 each including labor to fix only to know it might last 4 yrs lol way to go foreign trade you brought us 10X the cost for [xxx] crap parts. The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac Srx. While driving at various speeds, the passenger side headlight failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that condensation in the headlight unit caused a failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,866.

Both headlights accumulate moisture inside, causing the light output from the low beams to be almost none existing. It forces me to drive with the high beams on. I have done some research online and there are lots of people complaining about the same thing. I feel GM need's to perform a recall on this headlights.

During a rainstorm my left headlight stopped working. Took it to dealer and they found that due to a faulty seal water was getting into the light. The whole assembly had to be replaced.cost was over $1300. Vehicle only has about 63,400 miles on it. After reviewing multiple forums I found that other owners had the same issue. I have serious safety concerns about this problem. Specifically, if the headlight seals are unreliable it could result in head on collisions/accidents during bad weather involving precipitation. What hasn't there been a recall issued?

60,000 miles, both the front headlamp unit seals are leaking water causing the front lights to dim and burn out. Numerous complaints on Cadillac.com forum site. The cost is 1200 dollars per unit to repair. They advise not a warranty issue and cadi knew the seals disintegrate causing a very costly repair and a dangerous situation!

The Srx 2010 was parked out side during a light rain shower. The drivers side headlight accumulated moisture, and when the lights came on automatically it completely stopped working and a warning sign to check headlight appeared on the dash.

Headlight seal fails causing moisture inside lamp fixtures to build up and eventually cause an electrical short in the vehicle. Moisture in the lamp fixtures also impairs visibility at night and dusk conditions.

While driving on highway, check left low beam headlight warning. Then check right low beam warning came on. Now both left and right low & high beams are out. There is condensation in the driver side lens. This seems to be a defect in the lens design and there should be a GM recall.

The low beam headlights suddenly became extremely dim. Bulbs were replaced but it did not fix the issue. Cadillac advised that I would need to spend $3000 to replace both headlights but offered no explanation as to why. There was a service bulletin issued regarding the headlights and the dimness in 2012, but that bulletin had expired. I can no longer drive at night without spending 10% of the cost of the car to replace the headlights.

While driving at night in the rain and or fog on the highway all the headlights high and low beam failed due to the out door moisture causing the car to unsafely leave the road way and crash due to unable to see the road way or road side while on the highway, the moisture shorts out the lighting untill they dry out days weeks later.

It had been raining for several days. I received a message on my screen as I was driving to check the passenger side low beam. When I got out of the car the light was completely out on the passenger light. After allowing the vehicle to sit in the garage overnight, the next morning it was obvious that there was moisture inside of the light. The blinker still works but the low and high beam are both out.

The headlamp on the driver's side filled with condensation and water. The low beam went out. It came back on after a frost. It went out again while I was driving. The next day the high beam and other lights were out. Today, the high beam is working. Because of the faulty headlamp, I received a ticket. Some 2010 Cadillac Srx vehicles have a recall for this problem, others don't. minedoesn't because it is from another factory.

Condensation in both headlights have caused bot headlights to go out. First headlight went out while raining at night on a secondary road. About 5 days later after the condensation dried the head light came back on. This time the left headlight went out after a prolonged rain and now the right headlight is out due to condensation in that encasement. I bought the GM major guard warranty and was told this was bumper to bumper coverage, yet am being told by the dealership and GM this is not covered. This is an obvious manufacturing defect which is a a true safety concern. Why is GM not being held accountable for this. This eventually result in an accident.

Both head lights filled up with so much condensation it shorted the bulbs to where they did not work at all....in the rain...late at night!...on the highway with children in the car!! I was unable to see anything and had to use flood lamps on my drive home with my children in the car in the city and on the highway. Looked this up and it is very common for this make and model....this is a huge safety concern. There could have easily been a crash or fatality if I was not comfortable driving in uncomfortable conditions!

I have noticed that it has been a lot of complaints about the headlights on Cadillac Srx and it is very expensive just to replace the part. The light joust goes out if your driving or not and it should be a recall on this before someone has a serious accident.

The rear lift gate electronic control module is a manufactures defect. The sunroof drain apparently is a manufacturers defect and does not function properly. It does not drain and as a result allows water to short out and destroy the electronic control module. The first time this occurred was while the vehicle was under warranty. There was a recall on the drain that should have fixed the problem but it did not. The rear lift gate became inoperable again this time becoming completely inoperable. The Cadillac dealer david taylor blamed the sunroof drain once again would not warranty their past work nor their future attempts to solve the problem saying only that at any time the drain could become clogged again causing the control module to short out and if it was past one year or twelve thousand miles that I would just have to pay another grand to have it fixed again. So basically a recall item a manufacturers defect that is aresponsibility of Cadillac is now a reoccurring problem that is solely the responsibility of the customer to spend a thousand dollars every couple of years for a non weather able item. This is not a motor or transmission or a set of tires this is a design defect that is the responsibility of the manufacturer and therefore the dealer. The rear lift gate is dangerous when operable due to opening and closing improperly erratically and unexpectantly possibly getting an adult child or animals limbs or extremities caught in the lift gate. Also when the lift gate becomes copletely inoperable one might have a limb or extremity caught and not have any means of opening the lift gate manually for when it stops working there is no way to release it. Cadillac is obviously aware of the defective design and manufacture of this unit and are risking consumers safety but just refuse to do anything to resolve the problem. 780000 GM lift gates recalled why not Cadillac
