Ignition switch component with wire harness causes engine to shut down.all warning display lites flash on and off. If you use the left or right signal engine power cuts out. Very hazardouse when driving at normal highway speeds. Car will not start when this happens. I contacted dealership in bremmerton Washington they stated that my vehical VIN was not on the recall list please add this VIN to the recall list so appropriate repairs can be made this is a very dangerous situation and could be fatal to drivers.

After driving about ten minutes into my trip last night at about 60 mph, my Buick Regal 2000 ended up losing the ability to accelerate. It then lost all power and left me stranded on the interstate. I lost the power steering, the instrument panel started flickering. This occurred in a work zone at about midnight. Within five minutes the flashers and lights also went totally dead. Even the trunk would not respond to my remote. The car lights and engine had been very strong and never gave any reason for concern. The key has been difficult to remove from the ignition cylinder for several years. This has been the only source of trouble with the car. The red security light on the instrument panel was illuminated - which is unusual - until the lights quit working. Could this have been a problem with the security system? we have not altered the factory security system. It is original. Very dangerous situation.

I was driving my 2000 Buick Regal coming back from work, as I was driving and about ready to go into a steep turn, my stereo system first completely shut off, then everything else in my car failed as well, engine, power steering, etc. I was barely able to get it to the side of the road and when I tried to restart it, it barely turned over. Clearly there is an electrical problem in these vehicles and my car hasn't even reached 100,000 miles even.

I was driving on a road at about 35 mph, I signaled to turned right and my vehicle went dead(the engine stopped-no steering or brakes.) fortunately, no one was driving behind me. I came to a halt and tried starting the engine multiple times, but all that happened was the dashboard lights would flash. Finally, I tried moving the turn signal up and down and it started! since then this has happened multiple times. This should not happen on a low mileage car or any car! I have almost gotten into multiple accidents!

On or around October 2013, I started experiencing difficulty in turn ignition switch off and removing key. Now its worsen where I spend anywhere 5 mins. To 15 min trying to remove the key. Only way I can do that is by turning the steering wheel or moving the gear selector back an forth till it decides it release the key.I thought it might have been the anti-theft in column that was locking up. I'm scheduled to have a new ignition installed after replacing the old key with a new key. I like to make sure this is covered before I sink anymore money into it. I depend on the car to make to doctor appointments and suck I often am late for because I"M in the parking lot playing spin the wheel. The other factor is steering wheel get extremely hot when driving at times. Where I have to put on gloves to drive. I replaced all the light bulbs in the socket last year all but the right front turn signal works. They tell me it possibly could be the module. Again, I don't have the funds to do extreme car repairs. Or reimburse me for the costs which is the right thing to do.

There are multiple problems with this vehicle. One of my main complaints is the steering wheel is becoming very warm to the touch. Next, the key gets stuck in the switch and will not come out, causing the battery to run down. Also, the signal lights have gone out and are not repairable and the electrical windows have gone out due to rusting and are not repairable.

2000 Buick Regal. Consumer writes in regards to a defective ignition switch malfunction and requests reimbursement for replacement costs. The consumer stated his wife was driving, when the engine suddenly stopped. All of the instrument lights were flashing. His wife managed to make it home. His wife stopped driving the vehicle, so the consumer drove the vehicle, and a month later, the engine died at a stop sign. A few miles later, the engine stopped again, as he was turning off the highway. The steering and braking required considerable strength. As he drove four miles home, the vehicle stopped two more times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a diagnosis revealed a defective ignition switch. Also, the oil pan gasket was replaced, due to an oil leak. Updated 06/05/14. Updated 08/07/14

Driving on the highway and all of a sudden, all the lights at the dashboard came on. Went to the nearest exit and park in a parking lot. Tried to restart the car again but would not. When clicking, all the lights at the dashboard comes and starts blinking and flashing. Checked and replaced a new battery but that was not the solution. Can start but when you engage or try to turn the turning signal either side, the car turns off. I had to tow my car to the garage where they put it on the machine and found out about a. fault ignition switch and the. Computer. Replaced all of the them but still. Some lights keep coming on.

I had stopped at store on way home from work. When I came out of store I noticed smoke coming from under the hood of my car. I popped the hood and saw my engine on fire and proceeded to try and put the fire out. I took my jacket off and started hitting the engine and this burned up my jacket and scorched my hand. An employee from the store came out with a fire extinguisher and put out the fire. The fire department was called but fire was out before they got there. It burned up the entire top and sides of my engine. Their was a recall that would have stopped this but I did not receive it.

My 2000 Buick Regal 3.2L V6 ls stalls while I am driving. The engine shuts off while all the other electric services (lights, radio and air conditioning, etc.) continue to operate. I was not even aware of the situation until I tried to accelerate. This has happened five times over the last month. The car will restart after about 15 minutes(which leads me to the conclusion of a computer malfunction although no error code occurs). I have found this has occurred to others on the same vehicle by searching the internet (www.carcomplaints.com). the dealership shows no error codes in the computer analysis, but the vehicle is truly undependable and a safety issue.
