Ford says about 12,000 vehicles in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan need steering repairs.

— Ford is recalling about 12,000 vehicles in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan because the vehicles could suffer from steering problems.

  • 2010-2017 Ford Taurus
  • 2009-2017 Ford Flex
  • 2009-2015 Lincoln MKS
  • 2010-2017 Lincoln MKT

The vehicles may experience fractured rear suspension toe links, something that has caused at least one crash with injuries in Canada.

The Ford Taurus vehicles were built between July 2, 2009, and May 25, 2017. The Flex SUVs were manufactured from May 7, 2008, to May 16, 2017, the Lincoln MKS vehicles were produced between May 28, 2008, and September 10, 2015, and the Lincoln MKT SUVs were made between July 28, 2009, and May 29, 2017.

Ford didn't say more about the Canadian recall other than dealers are expected to replace the right and left rear suspension toe links with newly forged toe links.
