— Daimler Vans is recalling 153 model year 2017 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vans because of missing welds. Daimler says the vans may be missing spot welds on the front side walls that connect the door portals to the hinge reinforcements in the A-pillar areas.
The missing welds can affect the structural integrity of the vans and could cause problems with occupant protection in a crash.
The Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 recall is expected to begin June 29, 2018. Dealers will inspect the vans and add spot welds in areas that are missing the welds.
