Mercedes-Benz Recalls 475 Vehicles in 3 Recalls
Mercedes-Benz passenger airbags can mistakenly deploy when child seats are used.

— Mercedes-Benz is recalling about 475 vehicles in three separate recalls for various defects.

The largest recall involves about 430 model year 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA250, CLA250 4Matic, CLA45 AMG 4Matic, E300, E300 4Matic, E43 AMG 4Matic, E400 4Matic, E63S AMG 4Matic+ and 2019 CLS450 4Matic vehicles.

The occupant classification system (OCS) may not be properly calibrated, which will allow the front passenger airbag to deploy when a child seat is used.

Mercedes-Benz dealers will replace the front passenger seat cushions when the recall begins October 3, 2018.

Another recall includes 39 model year 2018 Mercedes-Benz E400 Cabrio and E400 4Matic Cabrio vehicles with child seat anchoring systems that may not have been properly installed and can detach from the vehicles in a crash.

The recall is expected to begin October 3, 2018.

In the last recall of only four vehicles, Mercedes says the panoramic sunroofs could detach while driving.

Recalled are 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE350, GLE350 4Matic and GLE43 AMG vehicles that may need the sunroofs replaced. Dealers are expected to start inspecting the vehicles September 30, 2018.

Affected owners of vehicles named in the three recalls may call the automaker at 800-367-6372.
