Mercedes-Benz SLK300 Recalled Over Bad Lock Nuts
Mercedes-Benz recalls 459 SLK300 cars to replace lock nuts on rear tie rods.

— Mercedes-Benz is recalling 459 new 2016 SLK300 cars due to rear alignment problems. The cars have lock nuts that weren't manufactured correctly and are used on the rear wheel tie-rod connections.

The bad lock nuts can cause the rear alignment to change and cause the rear axle to steer independently of the rest of the car. A driver would be in for a big surprise to feel this happening while driving.

Mercedes-Benz didn't say much more about the SLK300 recall other than the cars were built January 19, 2016, to April 19, 2016.

The recall is underway and will see dealers replacing the lock nuts on the rear tie rods.

Owners of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK300 cars may contact the automaker at 800-367-6372 and use recall number 2016050008.
