— Ford says more than 113,000 vehicles are recalled in two recalls involving problems ranging from engines that stall to windows that can close with too much force.
Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS and Lincoln MKT Recall
More than 88,000 of the recalled Ford vehicles need to be brought back to dealers to replace fuel pump control modules.
Recalled are the 2013-2015 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS, Lincoln MKT vehicles equipped with 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged direct injection engines. Also included are 2013-2015 Ford Police Interceptors with all engine types.
Ford says the fuel pump control module can fail and cause the engine to stall, if it even starts in the first place. An engine that stalls while driving is never a safe event, but Ford says no accidents or injuries have been reported.
The automaker says about 88,151 vehicles are affected, most (77,502) are in the U.S., with another 7,353 in Canada and 1,083 in Mexico.
Ford says the Taurus was built August 25, 2011, to May 31, 2015, the Ford Flex was made September 12, 2011, to May 29, 2015, the Lincoln MKS was built August 31, 2011, to May 31, 2015, the Lincoln MKT was manufactured September 12, 2011, to May 29, 2015, and the Ford Police Interceptor sedans were built September 8, 2011, to May 31, 2015.
The recall is expected to begin September 12, 2016. Ford dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pump control modules as needed.

Ford Transit Recall
Ford is recalling about 2,500 model year 2015-16 Ford Transit 3.2-liter diesel-equipped vans to the replace fuel injection pumps. The automaker says the fuel injection pump may malfunction and cause the engine to fail to start or the engine may stall without warning, leaving the driver without the ability to restart the van.
As with the previous recall that involves stalling, Ford says there haven't been any reported accidents or injuries related to the vans, with about 2,013 affected vans in the U.S. and 457 in Canada.
As with the first recall, Ford didn't say when the fuel injection pump will begin. Dealers will inspect the fuel system for metallic contamination and if no metallic contamination is present, dealers will replace the fuel injection pump and associated parts.
If metallic contamination is present, dealers will replace the fuel injection pump, fuel injectors and fuel filter and clean and flush the fuel system.
Ford Escape Recall
Ford says 23,150 model year 2017 Ford Escape Titanium and SE vehicles have window problems, specifically problems that can cause the windows to close with too much force. The automaker says the power window system can exceed the "regulatory requirement for remote actuation closing force."
There are about 17,985 recalled SUVs in the U.S. and another 5,157 in Canada.
The recall began on September 8, 2016, so dealers can update the power window software to make the windows legal.
