— Maserati is recalling 135 model year 2016 GranTurismo and GranTurismo convertibles to repair door latches that can fail in a crash.
Maserati says the $135,000 cars were built with passenger-side door latch components that didn't receive heat treatment. The weak latch could fail under pressure, such as in a crash, and allow the door to open.
The GranTurismo and GranTurismo convertibles were manufactured June 24, 2015, to September 2, 2015.
Affected owners should have received recall notices informing them that dealers will replace the passenger door latch assembly.
GranTurismo owners with questions should call Maserati at 201-816-2600 and refer to recall number 292.
