— Honda is recalling 137 model-year 2014-2015 Accord 4-cylinder and 2015 CR-V vehicles because of a manufacturing error that can cause serious engine problems.
Honda says the automated system that built the engine might not have verified the connecting rod bolt was tightened properly. A loose rod bolt can cause engine damage and cause the engine to stall without any warning.
The automaker says a review of a warranty claim led to the discovery of the defect but there haven't been any reports of accidents or injuries related to the rod bolt.
Honda says affected owners should receive mailed notifications at the end of March 2015. The automaker says dealers will need to replace the engine short block.
Owners of the 2014-2015 Honda Accord 4-cylinder and 2015 Honda CR-V can contact the automaker at 800-999-1009.
