— Although information is scant, General Motors has announced a recall of 67,000 model year 2013-2015 Cadillac ATS sedans to fix a very sensitive sunroof switch.
GM says the power sunroof switch is so sensitive that barely touching the switch can cause the sunroof to open or close. The switch isn't recessed into the car and a small touch of the switch can activate the sunroof. Federal safety standards dictate how sensitive the switch should be so the sunroof opens and closes only when a person wants it to be activated.
GM discovered the problem during testing of a 2016 Cadillac ATS and caused the automaker to order a stop-sale of any affected cars so they can be repaired. Dealers will replace the roof console accessory switch trim plate in the affected cars.
General Motors says it is unaware of any accidents or injuries related to the defective sunroof switch.
The automaker hasn't said when the recall will begin. Owners of the 2013-2015 Cadillac ATS can contact Cadillac at 800-458-8006 and refer to recall number 15119.
