— Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 28,000 model year 2014 Range Rover/Range Rover Sport and 2013-2014 LR4 vehicles because a driver might not know the tires are dangerously under-inflated.
The problem is the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that can fail to learn the locations of wheel sensors. Those sensors should tell the system if the tire pressure is too low and then warn a driver with a low tire pressure warning light. Because of the defect, failure to learn the tire/wheel locations can cause the warning light to stay on. A driver would never know if one of the tires did lose air pressure.
Land Rover says the 2014 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and 2013-2014 LR4 vehicles were manufactured September 16, 2013, to June 30, 2014.
The recall should begin on December 1, 2014. Land Rover dealers will update the body control module software to make sure the TPMS works properly.
