— After receiving reports of 27 crashes related to a braking problem, General Motors is recalling about 293,000 model year 2011-2012 Chevy Cruze cars.
GM said the cars were manufactured at a plant in Lordstown, Ohio, and include only those vehicles with a 4-cylinder turbocharged 1.4-liter engine.
The 27 crashes involved a micro-switch in the brake assist system. GM dealers will replace the switch in the power brake vacuum pipe assembly, although the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hasn't released a date for the recall.
