— General Motors is recalling certain model year 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Buick Verano, Chevrolet Cruze, and Chevrolet Sonic vehicles because the driver side frontal air bag has a shorting bar which may contact the air bag terminals.
If the bar and terminals are contacting each other at the time of a crash, the air bag will not deploy.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13, 2013. Your GM dealer will replace the steering wheel airbag coil, although GM didn’t say how long the repair will take.
With questions, contact General Motors at 800-521-7300. The recall number is 12261 and is an expansion of previous recall number 12V-522.

- On January 18th, GM recalled the 2013 Chevy Express and GMC Savana Vehicles because they could also roll away due to a faulty ignition lock.
- On January 31st, same day as this recall, GM also recalled the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu for rear suspension issues.
