— Ford is recalling over 33,000 model year 2013 C-Max Hybrid vehicles because they were built with insufficient interior head impact protection at the roof.
Apparently, the problem was discovered during testing when it was clear the head protection was not up to federal standards.
Ford says the vehicles were manufactured January 19, 2012, through June 25, 2013, and include only those without panoramic roofs.
The recall is expected to begin August 19, 2013. Ford dealers will install energy absorbers between the headliner and the roof.
C-Max Hybrid owners can call 866-436-7332 and refer to recall number 13C02.
