— Chrysler is recalling about 5,600 model year 2013 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Ram 1500 vehicles for transmission problems. The affected vehicles include only those equipped with 4x4 or all-wheel drive, an 8-speed transmission and a V-6 engine.
Although no accidents or injuries have been reported, Chrysler says the components of the output shaft could break.
Chrysler says the problem was caused by using a two-stage forging method, which has now been replaced by a single-stage method.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hasn't released a recall schedule, but Chrysler says dealers will inspect and test the transmission output shafts and replace the transmission assemblies if needed.
