— Honda is recalling their 2012 CR-V equipped with the LX trim level over a simple labeling problem. Honda says the affected vehicles were manufactured from August 30, 2012, to August 31, 2012.
According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the incorrect values for gross vehicle weight rating, gross axle weight rating front and rear, tire size, and rim size were specified on the safety certification label. It might not sound like a big deal but it could lead to a driver overloading their vehicle, which could easily cause tire problems.
Honda will notify owners and dealers will apply the correct label. The recall is expected to begin around November 6, 2012. Owners may contact Honda at 800-999-1009 and refer to recall number S62.
This is the second recall this month involving the CR-V. Earlier in October, Honda recalled 268,000 model year 2002-2006 CR-V vehicles because the driver-side power window switch might melt and cause a fire. Honda even warned drivers to park their vehicles outside just in case a fire would start raging.
