— Jaguar today announced they are recalling certain 2010-2012 XF vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine. The vehicles may have a fuel tank fuel outlet flange that may crack.
Although leaking gas would probably go straight to the ground, any leak is dangerous if it’s near an ignition source.
Jaguar says drivers will most likely see an amber “check engine light” if there is a crack.
Most of the affected vehicles were manufactured between April, 2009, to January, 2010. However, a small number of vehicles have had a fuel tank fuel outlet flange fitted as a service replacement part. The supply of these parts to the aftermarket ended October 23, 2012.
The recall is expected to begin on December 7, 2012. Jaguar will notify owners so dealers can replace the affected fuel tank fuel outlet flanges.
Owners may contact Jaguar at 800-452-4827 and refer to recall number J027.
