GM Recalls 40,000 Vehicles Over Fears of Fuel Leak
Chevy Equinox, Pontiac Torrent, Chevy Cobalt, Pontiac G5, and Saturn ION target of recall.

— General Motors has announced yet another recall this month involving its vehicles.

Already on the recall to-do list for this month is the Chevy Sonic, for turn signal problems, and over 420,000 Saturn Aura, Chevy Malibu, and Pontiac G6 vehicles for transmission problems.

GM is now recalling certain model year 2007 Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent vehicles originally sold or currently registered in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas; model year 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5, and Saturn ION vehicles originally sold, or currently registered in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, or Texas; model year 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 vehicles originally sold, or currently registered in Arizona; and model year 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 vehicles originally sold, or currently registered in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma, or Texas.

GM says some of these vehicles have a plastic supply or return port on the fuel pump module that can crack. A crack means a gas leak, and if that gas hits any type of ignition source a fire could occur.

There is no word from GM about when the recall will begin. They say when the time comes, owners will be notified to schedule an appointment with the dealer. The fuel pump module will be replaced at no cost, except to your time and energy.
