Issue barely noticeable unless the sun hits it directly and then crates glare across the entire windshield. Integrity of the glass is compromised. Thousands of tiny bubbles in the windshield eventually fracture creating "pitting" which is not covered under warranty or they will claim impact damage (sand/salt). However "pitting" is a secondary cause and the over all integrity/strength of the windshield is compromised creating a safety issue. Issue is created via improper tempering of the glass components of the windshield or from impurities trapped in the PVB layer between the layers of glass which prevents shattering. The speed at which sand or salt needs to travel to create "pitting" on a slanted windshield is not achievable at highway speeds. Also if it were possible there would be a lot of other damage to the paint and plastic parts on the car as well.
