I took my car in for another issue (water leaking from the intellisafe module) and mentioned my braking issues. I was told I had warped rotors but that because I'm driving in Germany and it's a U.S. spec car that all they could do was sell me EU spec brakes and rotors since the roads are different in Germany than the U.S. (more windy, more braking because of cars slowing down, etc.). I explained that the roads in Germany are not all that different and I'm not driving like a race car driver so am not slamming on the brakes. I just wanted the car to work as designed.

I contacted Volvo (Sweden) and they said that because the U.S. brakes are the "comfort brakes" then the slight vibration in the wheel is normal and that I could modify the car with EU specs. I said the issue was not about the slight vibration (passengers could also feel the shuddering when braking), but about the rotors being warped. I have yet to hear back again.
