The contact owns a 2010 Volvo XC90. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked in her garage, the spare tire became detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the technician diagnosed that the winch that was holding the spare tire in place fractured, causing the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 60,000.
