I had my car for only 4 weeks. I was backing out of my driveway and the backup alarms never responded to a vehicle that was parked behind me, nor did the car break. Unfortunately I did back up into the vehicle. I called the dealership and reported the incident and they said they would look into it. They reported that the alarms and breaking were working perfectly. I had the car repaired.
A few months later I receive a letter in the mail reporting that there was a recall due to the system not recognizing items behind the vehicle and not breaking or alarming. I took my car into Volvo again and they said no that's not what that means. It was working when you got into your accident. Really??? They performed the recall and that was it. I do realize it is my responsibility to have control of my vehicle. But the reason why I bought this car was the safety features, which apparently do not work.
