We were driving to Croatia on vacation (and fortunately hadn't left Poland) when suddenly the clutch went on the car just as we were leaving town. Not knowing what was wrong, it being late on Saturday afternoon, we called for a tow truck and were hauled over 100km to my mother-in-law's. We had to wait till Monday morning to see if a local mechanic could look at it and were wondering if our vacation was over due to lost time or a big bill or both. Thankfully (?!) the problem turned out to be fairly small but highly unusual. The clutch pedal had snapped off and had to be welded back on. We still haven't found out the damage to our insurance discount for having a tow.
